Mayors Message:
Close your eyes. Think back to your earliest memories of Rexburg
and the surrounding areas. Try to visualize what was here then. Now
close your eyes again and envision the Madison County of the future. It
is an interesting exercise to look ahead. Now become involved with En-
vision Madison. We will be having, in the coming months, opportunities
and exercises that can help us shape the future in ways that will help to
preserve the values of the past and move those values into the future.
When Rexburg was founded by those pioneer forbears, I believe that they
were all involved. I believe that they had a vision for the future. I believe
that they envisioned what this area could become. They made plans for
the future. Those plans came to fruition. We must continue their work.
We must preserve the heritage that they left us. We must look into the
future. We must grasp the vision and carry it forward.
Please become involved in the coming months with Envision
Madison. We need you. We want all citizens to become participants in
the process. There have been a number of positive effects thus far. They
will only multiply with your help. We have been celebrating the past one
hundred years of Madison County. What about the next one hundred
years of Madison County? Let’s do our part to shape it as those pioneer
forbears did.
