HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979, Apr 4 Sewage & Irrigationc~ ~~.3~ ~~~~r~ RESOLUTION ,` _ I r"r ~ t ~ WHEREAS, Sugar City has an inadequate sewage treatment facility and the governing body of Sugar City desires to provide a sewage treatment facility for Sugar City, and WHEREAS, Rexburg will have a sewage lagoon and treatment facility which will be of sufficient size to treat the sewage of the inhabitants of Sugar City as well as the inhabitants of the City of Rexburg,. and T9HEREAS, the City of Sugar City will pay usage fees to the City of Rexburg for the use of Rexburg's facilities, and WHEREAS, the City of Rexburg has negotiated a contract with the Rexburg Irrigation Company whereby the City of Rexburg will be able to discharge treated waste water from its facility into the canal operated by the Rexburg Irrigation Company, and WHEREAS, a copy of the contract between the City of ' Rexburg and the City of Sugar City is attached hereto and a copy of the contract between the Rexburg Irrigation Company and the i' City of Rexburg is attached hereto, 1! NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of ~~ Rexburg enter into an agreement with the City of Sugar City whereby the City of Rexburg for certain considerations and -agreements to be performed by the City of Sugar City, will accept i 'I for treatment tl-e sewage of the inhabitants of the City of Sugar_ City, and _ ~~ ~~~ ~ ~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Rexburg enter ~~ into an agreement with the Rexburg Irrigation Company whereby j~ the Rexburg Irrigation Company agrees to let the City of Rexburg ~( discharge treated waste water from its facility into the canal SSI"operated by the Rexburg Irrigation Company, and I. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of the agreement ii between the City of 'Rexburg and the City of Sugar .City and the (! City of Rexburg and 'the Rexburg Irrigation Company be attached Gi to-this resolutionp,and (~ ... BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Clerk of the City 'of Rexburg,. Idaho, be and they are hereby authorized ~! and directed to sign said agreements on behalf of the City of ~~ Rexburg. j ~i -Nile Boyle seconded the adoption of the resolution and ~( '1 t d l the Mayor called for a vote. The following counci men vo e nAyen: Barton.Jensen Nile Boyle Morgan Garner Jim Morris Warren Porter ' Darlene Blackburn Mr. Kemp asked permission to drop 7th South from consideration as the highway interchange and that the city consider other alternatives. He stated this would save consider- able time and effort insofar as any impact statement was concerned'. The Mayor stated that the city had already decided to drop 7th 'South from the plan. ;~ Councilman Jim Morris introduced and read in full ;Ordinance No. 601. It was. moved by Councilman Nile Boyle and 1~seconded-by Councilman Warren Porter, that the rule requiring ;ordinances of general and permanent nature to be fully and jidistinctly read on three different days be dispensed with and ;that said Ordinance-601 be passed and adopted as read.
