HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977, Aug 17 Sewer Lagoons Improvement_'' RESOLUTION Councilman Barton Jensen introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Rexburg, Idaho, sewer lagoons be improved as quickly as possible, acting upon the recommendations of the study of the sewer lagoons which is now being made. L (Seal) f+ Resolution 17 The Rexburg City Council on August $}, 1977, at a special meeting passed the following resolution: REALIZING THE PRCBLIt~+iS of the City to properly treat the sewer effluent the Rexburg City Council in regular meeting August 17, 1977 hereby agrees th~x to authorize improvemeata in the City Lagooa~reatment facilities to provide better treatment of water being discharged into the Teton River with the goal of meeting the standards set by the Division of Environment, Department of Health and Welfare of the State of Idaho. To reach this goal we authorise the extention of the lagoon inlet to be moved to the northeast area which will provide for more efficieat use of the large lagoon. We authorize the City Engeaeer to start immediate plans to install an airation system to be installed in the present lagoon or in a new lagoon to be built, We also call attention to the Division of Environment that the City is at present invo7~`fd with a study to plan a new or improved treatment plant for Rexburg and areas of the county not now served and as soon as the study is completed and approved we will immediate initiate steps to implement this program, Signed: John C.
