RE: SIDEWALKS ON COLLEGE AV1 A1' BUD ARAISTRONGS PROPERTY
Dick Davis reported that he investigated the sidewalks on College Ave.
at Bud Armstrongs property and felt that he should try them for one winter
to see if any damage occurs.

and complimented him on their progress.

RE: RESOLUTION
The following resolution was read:
lUhereas, the city has just completed an extensive improvement program which
includes a new storm seiner, new water mains, new curh and gutter, new side-
walks, and
1Ntereas, the City Council intends that this be a new beginning on a cont-
inuing program for beautification of the city and for orderly growth, and
Whereas there has existed for several years a permissiveness on the part
of the city toward the parking of vehicles on sidewalks and on city "Right
of i4ay" and,th~ ,uvse of sidewalks to display merchandise for sale, and,
said actit~J,,~°~e`t ~,,in uj.,~tion of city ordinances,
Whereas it is noweemed to'tbe a most appropriate time to bring an end to
__ these violations which have been allowed to persist heretofore, and,
1Vhereas the city now affirms that sidewalks are for people to walk on and
that the city Right of Way between sidewalk and curb is for beautification,
and safety, and therefore,
Be It Resolved that our police department be instructed to enforce our
ordinances pertaining to parking on the sidewalk or in driveways, or the
use of sidewalks for displaying merchandise for sale, and the parking of
vehicles or placing signs or any other objects on the "Right of IVay" between
sidewalk and curb,
It was moved by Barton Jensen, seconded by Dick Davis. Unanimously carried.
RE: BIDS ON USL'D CARS
Bids were opened on used cars.
The 1950 Pickup was sold for $10.00
The 1953 Truck was sold for $75.00

Building permits with corresponding building value of $27,101.00 and $48.00
permit fee charged for the month.

Counc lntan Glenn I'e`t,~rson 'introduced and moved ttie adoption of. the following,
i9i113REAS„ on the 17th day of June, 1970, the City Council 'of the City
of Rexburg, Idaho, adopted and the Mayor of said City approved Ordinance
No. 508 of said City, creating Local Improvement District No. 19 for the
purpose of improving and constructing certain streets and alleys, construc-
ting and instal irig sanitary sewer laterals, constructing and reconstructing
curbs, gutters and sidewalks, and constructing drainage works incidental to
said improvements within said district, and
iVI[ERHAS, the City proposes to issue Local Improvement District Bonds
to pay the cost of such improvements, and
IUHP,REAS, it is considered necessary and advisable that provision be
made for the issuance of interim warrants of the City pending the receipt
of the proceeds of the bonds so to be authorized;
