HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966, Jun 1 Transfer of Funds~~'~{ RE: CITY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION: Mayor Broclc reported he had spoken to Ray Pocock, Chairman of the County Commissioners who is in favor of establishing a City County Planning Commission and would take it up in the regular Commissioners' Meeting on June 13th, 1966. RE : ANDRE'n~ NELSON DITCIB ASSESSMENT - 1965 Andrew Nelson and his son, Kwendon Nelson, appeared to protest chafges of 530.00 paid for 1965 ditch water by Mr. Nelson, stating they had been overcharged. Councilman Klingler was asked to in- vestigate with former Water Master, Cecil Fullmer. RE: SWIM POOL SALARIES: Councilman Porter reported swimming pool manager, Dennis Carlson, would be paid 5350.00 per month; instructors 52.00 per hour and lifeguards 51.25 per hour and that the pool would not be open on Sundays. RE: CASH REGISTER FOR POOL: A Motion was made by Councilman Smith, and seconded by Councilman Klingler that Councilman Porter be authorized to purchase a Victor cash reciister for use at the swimming pool. The Moiton carried. RE: WATER MASTER'S SALARY: A Motion was made by Councilan Klinger and seconded by Councilman Peterson that Don Parker be paid a salary of 5300.00 per month as WateEMaster effective May 15th, 1966. The Motion carried. RE: CITY AUDIT FOR 1965: Mr. Gilbert Karst presented the 1965 annual audit just completed by his firm discussing some of the items. A Motion was made by Councilman Withers and seconded by Councilman Virgin to accept the audit. The Motion carried. RE: RESOLUTION OF TRANSFER OF FUNDS: The following Resolution was offered by Councilman David Withers, and seconded by Councilman John C, Porter: "Whereas, the City of Rexburg has fulfilled all of its contract obligations as provded by Sectioh 18-H-3 Ordinance No. There is now a surplus in the water and sewer fund in the amount of 590,700.33, which should be transferred to the General Fund and Whereas; it appears there will be a net surplus in the water and sewer fund eachPiyearoafter all contract obligations have been fulfilled as set forth in said Section 18-H-3 Ordinance No. Now Therefore, be it resolved, that the surplus in the water and sewer fund in the amount of 590,700.33 be transferred to the General Fund, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to transfer said amount to the General Fund. BE it further resolved that the net amount remaining in the water and sewer fund each year hereafter, upon the performance of all contract obligations as required by Section 18-H-3 Ordinance No. be transferred to the General Fund, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to make such transfer each year." Thereupon the Mayor asked for a roll call vote on the Motion and upon the roll being called by the City Cleric, the vote was, as follows: Councilmen: Withers "AYE" Klingler "AYE" Smith "AYE" Virgin "AYE" Porter AYE" Peterson "AYE" There were NO NAY votes cast. Mayor Brock declared the Resolution passed. RE: TRANSFER OF BOND & INTEREST FUNDS: A Motion was made by Councilman Withers, and seconded by Councilman Virgin, that City Treasurer be authorized to transfer 55,200.00 from the Bond and Interest Fund to the General Fund to repay advances from prior years.
