Thereupon, the follotiving proceedings, among others, were duly had and taken:
The purpose o£ the meeting eras to hear and discuss bor. Bentonrs findings on the bids
submitted on the curb and gutter project and to accept one of them.
Councilman ;'gilding introduced and moved the adoption of the follol^ring resolution:

A RESOLUTION APJAP.DING CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IhTPROVE-
Il~1TS IN LOC.4I, IP.':PROV~.~IEPIT DISTRICTS N0. Li and N0. 15 FOR THE
CONSTRUCTIDN AND RECONSTRUCTION OF CURBS AND GUTTERS IN REXBUP,G,
IDAHO.
."lHEREAS, on the 18th day of May, 1955, bids for the construction of improvements in Local
Improvement Districts No. ].L, and No. 15 for the construction and reconstruction of curbs and
gutters in said City were duly opened, read and referred to David E. Benton, City Engineer, and
49IIER.GAS, it now appears that the lovrest and best responsible bid for the construction of
said improvements vras made by Lloyd Nash of Idaho Falls, Idaho,
THEREFOR., BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, that the
contract for the construction of improvements in said Districts be and the same is hereby awarded
to Lloyd Nash of Idaho Falls, Idaho, in accordance vrith his proposal, at a total contract price
of ~~92,48D.59, and that the Ielayor and Clerk be, and they hereby are authorized to execute con-
tracts between the City and the said Lloyd Nash for the construction of improvements in Local
Improvement District No. 71, and for the construction of improvements in Local Improvement District
No. 15, such contracts to be executed separately for the t~°;o improvement districts on a cost
ratio basis.
ADOPTED ANll APPROVED this 23rd day of May, 1955.
Councilman Genta duly seconded the motion to adopt the foregoing resolution
eras thereupon put to a vote and adopted on the follovring recorded vote:

The resolution
It appearing that more than a majority o£ the Councilmen had voted in favor of the motion,
the f~Iayor thereupon dedlared the. motion carried and the resolution adopted.
D. D. I^lilding moved that Mr. Benton be authorized to notify Lloyd Nash he had been awarded
the contract and to submit his performance bonds, etc.
Meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL LTEETING OF TIC
CITY COUNCIh OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO
May 25, 1955
Minutes of a special meeting of the City Council of the Gity of Rexburg held this 25th day
of May, 1955, at 6 p.m, at the City Hall. Mayor J. Fred Smith was present and presided. Those
present svere Councilmen A,. E. Archibald, Max tuTiclcelsen, Norman Genta, M. D. Morrell, and Robert
Erikson, City Treasurer John `iJalz, City Attorney ITary Smith, and accountants Fred Ring and John
Dougan. Councilman D. D. Vtilding was absent.
The purpose of the meeting vras to set up the budget for the ensuing year.
Mr. Ring explained that the Bonding Company requests a resolution to carry a 1 mill levy
for Bond Guarantee for the special improvement guarantee fund.
The Mayor recommended the same budget be used as last year, M. D. Morrell moved the same
budget be used as last year as recommended by the Mayor in the amount of $p143,971.00. The motion
vras seconded by A. E. Archibald and passed unanimously.
