THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE .CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO
July 5, 1945.
The regular meeting of the city council o£ the city of Rexburg held July 5, 1945,
at the City Ha]1. Mayor DeMott and the following members of the council were present,-
Powell, Flamm, lNoodmansee, Smart and Rigby. Councilman Biddulph was absent. The meeting
was called to order by Mayor DeL:ott. In the absence of the City Clerk, Edna Hegsted,
City Attorney,-Mary Smith, took the minutes. Minutes of previous meeting were not read.
The following proceedi~s were had, to-wit:
Councilman Powell raported that Jed Bird had been employed as water master of tt.e
irrigation system at X165.00 par month.
The mayor then requested the City Attorney, Mary Smith, to read the proposed lease
bewteen the City of Rexburg and 'Nilliam Baugh and Fritz Brannan, doing business as Rexburg
Flying Service, to the Council section by section. Miss Smith read said lease section by
section to the council and after considerable discussion, Mayor Dettott asked that she
read the following resolution and that the same be spread upon the minutes,
RESCLUTICN
~9HEREAS, the City of Rexburg is the owner of the municipal airport
and facilities situate ~n the south aide of the City of Rexburg, Madison
County, Idaho: and,
WHEREAS, Wm. Baugh and Fritz Brannan, doing business under the
firn name and style of Rexburg Flying Service, of Rexburg, Idaho,
having proposed to lease from the city certain of the ground and fac-
ilities of the City of Rexburg at said airport; and,
WHEREAS, said form of lease has now been presented to the City
for the consideration of the Cityy Council:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that tha Mayor and City Couneil
of the City of Rexburg, according to the terms and provisions of Section
49-131, Idaho Code Annotated, and as amended by Chapter 172 of the 194,.7.
Session Laws, lease said property and facilities described in said lease
to the said i^dilliam Baugh and Fritz Brannan, an3 Rexburg Flying Service
and that the City enter into the proposed lease as now presented to the
Council and that the same be approved and that the Mayor and City Clark
be and are hereby authorized to execute said lease on the part of the
City of Rexburg, in triplicate, and deliver a copy of said lease to the
lessees.
It was moved by Councilman Rigby; seconded by Powell that the
foregoing resolution be adopted. Upon roll call the following vote
was had: mFlamm, aye, .~oodmansee, aye; Smart, no „Rigby, aye; Powell aye;
Biddulph was absent arxi not ntoing.
Whereupon the Mayor declared the
resolution passed."
Mayor DePlott advised the Council that the City of Rexburg could get a priority to
buy a Bruck. After considerable discussion the council decided to buy a new truck and
ask the dealers of Rexburg to submit bids fora new complete dump truck,to meet the
specifications to be determined by the Council.
