for housirig the local unit of the Idaho National Guard; and the community is in
need,of a building for such purposes; and
FaI~REP.S, Independent School District Number One in ~a.dison County, Idaho,
t~~xich embraces the City of Rexburg, otirns a lot of land centrally located and of
sufficient sins for such a Tuilding and play grounds, and the Board of Trustees
of said School District has proposed to transfer, either-in fee or by long term
lease, a part of said lot of sufficient size for the construction and convenient
occupation and use of a public building to be used for public recreation and hous-
ing of the local obit of the Idaho national Guard and other public purposes, and
to establish a play gromid on other parts of said lot adjacent to said building
vrhen constructed, and has offered to make such a transfer to the City of Rexburg
on condition that the city vnid 'sponsor" and promote a ','orlcs Progress iidninis-
tration project to obtain funds to aid in the construction of such a building and

that funds for such purposes c:an be obtained through the corks Progress AcLuinis-
tration if the city, through the l:Iayor and Council, grill "'sponsor" and promote"
such a project and assume and exercise general supervision of same; and the ex-
pcnditure of ftuids of the city vrill not be eiaGiaired, and it will be for the pub-
,- lic good and welfare of the city if such a building can be canstructed.
SE IT RESOLVE' By the rsayor and Councd'bf the City of Rexburg, Idaho:
Section l.- That the Lay or end Council of tha Cit,,= of Rexburg, Ida~!o, be
a!xi they are hereby authorized and empovrered to accept in the anise of the City of
Rexburg from Independent School District Number One, in Lladison County, Idaho a d
deed or tither conveyance, or a long term lease of a parcel of lanrl lyiixg between
Central .:venue and first !hest Htreet in the City of Ptebusg, of sufficient area
_ for the construction cuid conveinnt occupation and use of a building of al.~propri-
ate size and a_r.,pointments for public recreation and indoors games and spox-ts and
the housing of, and accommodation for, the local unit of the Idaho Tational Guard,
and to be lcnovrn as the 'Armory Bu~ldir!g~',
Section 2.- That the mayor and Council of the City of Rexburg be ai'1d they
are hereby empovrered to act for and in the name of the city as 'sponsor" of a
:'forks Progress aldntini.stration project to obtain funds for the construction of a
building for the,purpose aforesaid upon the paid lot of land and promote said en-
terln ise and cooperate rorith said Independent School District Number One through its
Board of Trustees in planning and constructing such a building, and to accept; if
required, from the 'aoorks lrogress Administration and from said School llistric£; or
either of them, money and menas to pay and drfray the costs of lalaor and materials.

Section 3.- ^lhat if money anct other means are received, either fron_ the dVorlts
Progress <1dr~nistration or from said school District, or both, for said enterprise, such funds
fLtnds shah not be covered into the City Treasury, but shall be held apart in a seperate
fund for tTte sold purpose of caging the costs of the building to be constructed
pursuant to said proposal and plan; and such costs shall be paid from time to ti<ae
as the fork of construction progresses, end as required by the regulations of the
';orks Progress Administration, as to labor employed and materials furnished antler
its regulations, and other labor ant materials shy be paid zor as directed by

sident electors of the City of 1?~ =burg, to act for the ~?ayor and Council in al.~. matters
relating to the construction of said building, except as to such matters as require the
direct attention and action of the Ielayor and Council as herein provided; that such com-
mittee !gay be appointed from members of the City Council or citizens z°rho are not members
of the council, and that the members of duch committee shall serve Zvithout pay.
Section 5.- That if and when it shall have been finally and definitely determined
that such a building shall be constructed, and the plans thereof have been approved
then the F,4ayor and Council of the City and any of all com~n9.ttees appointed by them
for said purposes shall promote the construction of said building to its completion
as rapedly as the means for said enterprise shall be provided and cirsumstances per-
mit; and :^dien finally completed said building shall be turned over to the Board of
Trustees of Independent School District Number One in i~:iaidson County, to be managed
and controlled b~^ said Board of Trustees, for public recreation, indoor gatr!es and
sports, the housing of and accomodations for the local unit of the Idaho National
guard, and other public and school purposes.
Section b.- That no funds, money or means of the City of Rexburg, except
the service of its officers and committee appointed, shall be required for the con-
struction and finishing e~ said proposed building.
