The meeting vvas called to order at S.p.m with Iriayor Porten presiding and the
folloving councilmen answering to the roll call.
H.A.S~right - J.S.1'IEbster - Fred Shirley - And F.D.Kelley.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The District manager of the Uper Snake River Dairymans Association presented
a proposed plan whereby the water used in the Companys cooling plants could by
returned to the City water mains without being contaminated in any way, there
by saving water and cutting their cost of owe ration The matter was refered
to the water committee for investigatiin.
Laurance Jepson made a request that the pity council do something to prevent
drhe city ditch mater from flooding his basement, After some discussion a
motion vvas placed by "tebster seconded by Kelley and passed by the council that
a hocked head gate be installed at the dead of said ditch.
E.J.Soleberg mad a request that he be permited to install a water hydrant at
his property to furnish water for his stack without installixxg another meter
Councilman t~tebster moved that a meter be installed for 1+.r. Soleberg, the
motion was seconded by Councilman ':`fright and Passed by the council. '
The proposed improvements on the City hall were discussed at length and the '
City architect ,Clint Sunburg pr&sented plsns for the proposed improvement.
Cotuicilman F.D.Kelley introduced the following fieolution and Iaioved its Adoption

"tHSREAS it spears to the T<~iayor and Council of the City of Rexburg that the'-
certain building nameljT, t:~e ..ro < r,7~r }~` t iron. building located on the
north-west corner of loc ((3) Of block'(34) of the Rexburg Townsite, on what
is known as the C.~;7.and TVi. property is so delapidated and in such a Condit-
ion as to menace public health and the safety of persons and other aropert~;
on account of increased fire hazard and the aoeumilat~~n of rubbish th°i;ican
resulting from it not being occupied for any useful purpose a~xd 1'~ng neglected
and being a place v~xere boys and isle men loiter about. ,~°"

Be it resolved by the mayor and the city council of Rexburg that 'the
certain wood and sheet iron building located on the corner of .hot (3} of
block (34) of t'ite rexburg Townsite be and the same is hereby declared to
be a nusanee for the reasons and on the ground above stated, and that it be a<~d
is hereby ordered that the said building be removed from said ..premises to
some point outside the Fire >;imits of the City of Rexburg,?or destroyed.
Be it resolved 3~~ther that the ConsolidatedUagon and S,Iachine Co.be` served
with a soppy of this resolution by the chief of Police of the ~ity® together
with notice to remove said building within thirty days from date of such
srvice and if said bu=lding is not removed v.~ thin said time in that event
t'rxe same shall be removed by the City under the direction of the Chief of
Police at the expense of the Consolidated ':'agor and I+[achine Co. the owner of
said Property.

Councilman Ii.L.Peterson moved That Chris Ashbacke~~ is ixi no condition to pay
for the City water being passed the age for manual habor and having nc
finiancial aid that he receive the Cit;;~ water free .or tae present time
The motion was seconded by Councilman Fred Shirley ~:d passed by the'eouneil
Potion was placed by Councilman Kelley, seconded by Councilman "tebster and
passed by the council that Ras Johnson be retained for another month as extra
policeman and that his salary be pI00.00 per month.
I~iotion was placed and carried that the following bills be alloyed and the
clerk order__d to Bravo warrants for the same.
