RE: RERBURG REDEVELOPMENT PLAN ENLARGEMENT
TOPIC: (22,85,,,E.C.I.P.D.A., TAXES,2ND E.,GRAND AUTO)
Glen Pond indicated that he has met with the Commissioners and that
they have given their full support on this issue.
Richard indicated that the school district will be meeting regarding
this issue next week.
Jeff Summers from ECIPDA explained the history of the Rexburg
Redevelopment plan. He showed the new plan and explained the effects
that is will have on that area. (on file) The purpose for the urban
renewal is to capture the tax from the businesses in that area, to make
improvements in the same area.
This change needs to be done before the end of the year in order to
capture the tax revenue from Grand Auto. .
This does not change the tax amount for the businesses it only directs
the area that the taxes are used. (discussion)
Glen Pond moved and Farrell Young seconded that the redevelopment
expansion for the Urban Renewal Area goes to Public Hearing.
