RE: MADISON BASEBALL ASSOCIATION PAYMENT AND ASSESSMENT
Randy Huskinson of the Madison Baseball Association was at the
meeting. Their revenue has not been what they anticipated. The balance
they have left in their budget is $600. He asked if the city would
reduce their fee for the use of the ball fields to $600 this year and
they would pay the full amount of $1,200 next year. Brad Liljenquist
questioned, we spend a lot of money to keep the diamonds up and if we
reduce the assessment, where will the money come from to make up the
cost? Mr Huskinson stated that as a board they have talked about
increasing the fee for the added expenses. One hundred per cent of the
fees goes back into the youth of the community. We are developing a
lot more than taking care of the grounds and maintaining the diamonds.
(discussion) Mr Huskinson stated that they were rained out of about 35~
of their games last summer and also one group of 187 kids moved their
games over to Sugar. A motion was made by Farrell Young and seconded by
Glen Pond that we accept the $600 this year for a worthy project and
they will be required to pay $1200 next year. Nyle commented that we
encourage the Baseball Association to be prepared to pay $1200 next
year, because this is the last year we will be able to reduce the fee.
The mayor asked for a vote. All Voting aye except Brad Liljenquist
voted Nay. Motion carried.

RE: ON CALL HOLIDAY PAY FOR THE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS
Jim explained that the water and sewer departments get comp time for
when they are on call or have to do rounds but on Holidays there is no
comp time for being on call; they get two hours for doing the rounds
for inspecting stations and it takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. They
don't get any comp time on a holiday for having to be on call. If they
are on call like for Christmas, they can't go anywhere, they have to
stay home by the phone or on their radio. Their request is for four
hours of comp time when they are on call on a holiday and still have
the two hours for rounds. It is a twenty-four hour period of time.
{discussion) Jim Flamm made a motion that we recommend that we do it
for individual holidays and put it in the policy manual. That we
approve it for Christmas and New Years now. That the comp time be
taken in the same week. Seconded by Bruce Sutherland. All Aye

the doors are locked. Nyle Fullmer suggested that if the Fire
Department could not do it, the Police could check the doors.
