RE: DISCUSSION OF OVERRIDE ELECTION
The Mayor told the council that we need to decide if we are going to have an
override election. He would talk to the department. heads and decide the badly
needed equpment and add up the amounts and get a total of how much money we
need.
RE: CITY PARTY
The Mayor said we are going to have a city party on August 10.
RE: TETON DAM
Mayor Porter said he had a letter from a woman in Hampton, Virginia, .asking the
Mayor to please "don't" proceed with plans to build the Teton Dam.
RE: THANK YOU CARD
The Mayor read a thank you card from Farrell for the flowers we sent to his dad's
funeral.
RE: BILLS
A motion was made by Morgan Garner and seconded by Glen Pond to pay the bills.
RE: ADJOURN
A motion was made by Sander Larson to adjourn and seconded by Nile Boyle.

A special meeting of the City Council for the City of Rexburg, Madison
County, held July 15, 1982, at the City Hall.
Those present:
Mayor: John C. Porter
Councilman: Sander Larson
Nile Boyle
Jim Morris
Glen Pond
Morgan Garner
Councilwoman: Darlene Blackburn
Also Present: Mary Smith, City Attorney
Rose Bagley, City Clerk
Richard Horner, Treasurer
RE: WATER BILL FOR MARK GARNER
Mayor Porter ask the council about a water bill for Mark Garner, that was
overdue and going to be shut off. The ward was going to pay the bill, and he
ask if we could wave the re-connect fee. The council agreed to wave it.

DISCUSSED OVERRIDE ELECTION
The council discussed the things that are suggested for the Override Election.
The Parks want a new mower. The council felt that we didn't need one.
The police need a new patrol car for $9500, which was approved.
The fire department need new air packs for $2500, and hoses and .nozzles for
$3000, which was approved.
The pool need for general expenses $5000, which was approved.
The office needs a computer terminal, the council felt the people would
-vote against it.
The Streets need street repair & paving and curb and gutter for $60,000,
which was approved.
We need $7500 for snow removal, which was approved.
The shop needs a steam cleaner, for %1500, which was not approved.
A deficit for $25,000 which was approved.
Nile Boyle introduced a resolution to have an override election on September
3, 1982, seconded by Jim Morris, Resolution attached.
