RE: PROPERTY FOR PARKING LOTS
Mayor Porter told Council that Val Dietrich and Jim Barrett were in yesterday to
discuss property for parking lots. Nile Boyle said that they would have to get
an appraisal.

MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL
BUDGET MEETING
August 24, 1979
A special budget meeting of the City Council for the City of Rexburg, Madison
County, held on August 24, 1979, at the City fall.
Present were the following:
Mayor John C. Porter
Councilman: Jim Morris
Nile Boyle
Warren Porter
Morgan Garner
Barton Jensen
Councilwoman: Darlene Blackburn
Mayor Porter told the Council that the assessed valuation of the City is
$18,915,128.00.
RE: TENTATIVE BUDGET
A tentative budget of $1,549,400.00 for the fiscal period October 1, 1979 to
September 30, 1979 was presented. Darlene Blackburn moved that it be passed.
Jim Morris seconded. All Aye. Final Budget Hearing will be held September 7,
1979 at 7:30 P.M.
RE: PETITIONS FOR TRAILOR HOUSES
Mayor Porter told the Council that LeMoyne Monk had brought a petition into the
City Hall to put a trailor house at 469 West Fourth South. Paster Jerry D. James
had also presented a petition to put a temporary trailor in at 276 North 2nd West.
Jim Morris moved that they be given permission subject to a building permit.
Darlene Blackburn seconded. All Aye. (Copies attached)
RE: HOUSE BY TACO TIME
The Council discussed the house by the Taco Time. The man did not take the porch
off he just enclosed it. The building inspector needs to check it.
RE: PROBLEM AT BILL WEBSTER'S
Discussion on the problem by Bill Webster's. Morgan Garner and Barton Jensen
would get together with Dan Moulton after the meeting anddecide what to do and
get it started on.
RE: BRENT HEBDON - BEER BAR
Jim Morris told the Council that Brent Hebdon at 258 South 2nd West had ask him

about putting in a Beer Bar. It is zoned. commercial. He ask Mary to check to see
if he could put one in at that address.
RE: STREET PROJECTS
Mayor Porter told Council that a bill was being prepared for Jack Randall, Bob Lee,
Thomason & Bowen and Ricks College for street projects.
RE: MILLHOLLOW PROJECT
Discussion on the triangle tl~a~ was Left at the Millhollow project. rlayor Porter
said that it would eventualiy have to be dug up and put gravel in it.

RE: MINUTES APPROVED
It was moved by Morgan Garner, seconded by Nile Boyle and unanimously carried,
that the minutes of August 15, 17th and 24th be approved.
The Lyman 2nd and 3rd Ward Scouts attended.
RE: TRAILER HOME AT 131 North 1st West
The Mayor stated he had been contacted by Randy Lewis, asking to put a trailer
home at 131 North lst West for a year. Moved by Nile Boyle, seconded by Jim Morris
and unanimously carried that he be permitted to place a trailer home at 131 North
1st West for one year.
RE: INSTALLATION OF RAILROAD CROSSING SIGNS
The Mayor reported he had received a proposed resolution from the Idaho Trans-
portation Department, Division of Highways, for a Cooperation Agreement for in-
stallation of advance warning railroad crossing signs under a Federal Aid Project,
no matching funds necessary. However, that the City would have to maintain the
same and assume all liability incurred by any act or omission, neglect or
