It is our understanding that both the current owners and the previous owners were given a "temporary" permit by the State of Idaho Depart- ment of Health to continue operating while a solution to the pollution problem could be worked out. Apparently, the:°previous owner did not- hing and we are .able to detect no progress by the current owners. We realize the financial contribution this industry makes in the empl- oyment and tax revenues to the people of our community. It is not our intent to try to drive them out of business, but we feel that sufficie- nt time has elapsed to develop a workable solution to this problem. We feel that the time~~as come to require that something be done. We would like to know how long the temporary permit allows the mill to continue operating. We also request appropriate action by the Mayor and City Council to get the owners of the mill moving toward a prompt solution to this long standing problem. It is our intent to stay on top of this situation until something is done to stop this dirty and unhealthy condition in our community.
