RE: MODEL LITTER ORDINANCE
The Mayor presented a Model Litter Ordinance and asked Mary to check it out.
RE: REGUARDING MARION NELSON
The Mayor reported that he had recieved a call from Marion Nelson. Mr. Nelson
had forgotten that the City had asked him to furnish a bond if he proceeded on
his building. The Mayor felt he should be sent a letter.-
TELEPHONE LAND PURCHASE
Discussion on Telephone Viand Purchase. The Mayor stated that it would be appraised
and the Telephone Company would pay the appraised value plus the price of the fence
to fence it in. It could be moved down by the City Shop. The City would have to
have bids on the property. The Mayor suggested that with the money the city could
(1) buy parking at the Court House and (2) put a road in around by Walters. Mary
stated that it would have to be appraised, and an ordinance would have to be passed
for the sale of property and bids would have to be let. The Telephone Company is
anxious to get the property. Mary is to check into it.
RE: REVENUE SHARING PUBLIC HEARING
The Mayor stated that next Tuesday at 6:30 P.M, there would be a Revenue Sharing
Public Hearing. The City should get $90,000 this year. The Council would also
work on the Budget.
RE: BILLS
Morgan Garner moved that the bills be paid. Darlene Blackburn seconded. All Aye.
RE: TABERNACLE
Jhe Mayor said that Boise called and they had $50,000 for the Tabernacle. As soon
as it comes we can pay the Church for the property.

MINUTES OF SPECIAL
REVENUE SHARING PUBLIC HEARING
August 22, 1978
A meeting of the Revenue Sharing Public Hearing for the City of Rexburg, Madiosri
County, was held on August 22, 1978, at the time of 6:30 P.M. at City Hall.
Present were the following:

John C. Porter
Barton Jensen
Jim Morris
Nyle Boyle
Warren Porter
Morgan Garner
Councilwoman:
Darlene Blackburn
Also Present: City Clerk, Rose Bagley
Mayor Porter stated that the City should get about $85,000 in Revenue Sharing
money. He suggested that the City should use some of the money to pay for the
Senior Citizen Bus Driver. The drivers wages have been paid by Ceta, but it will
not pay for it after September 1. The County is to pay ~ of her wages and the
City pay ~.
RE: PORTER PARK
Mayor Porter stated that he had recieved complaints that many tourists are using
Porter Park by the fireplaces for overnight parking. He felt that Dean Hollist's
over night parking for trailers might be a good thing if he was allowed to put
only four trailers in.
RE: BOR
The Mayor said he got the BOR audit report today. The verifier will be here
tomorrow.
RE: FIRE CHIEF BUDGET
Fire Chief, Gary Owens presented his budget. The Council felt that it was a good
budget, pending salary increase approval on all employees. The City Office Budget
was presented by Mayor Porter. Golf Course Budget would be the same as last year.
There is still some question on the Water Department Budget. The Mayor and City
Clerk will work on the budget and call a special meeting to finalize.
RE: LID
Discussion on LID & street repairs. The Mayor said they would do as much as they
could this fall.

BUDGET MEETING
August 29, 1978
A special budget meeting of the City Council for the City of Rexburg, Madison County,
was held on August 29, 1978, at 7:00 A.M. at the City Hall.
Present were the following:

Councilwoman: Darlene Blackburn

RE: BUDGET
Discussion on Budget. The employees are to get a 7~ cost of living raise.
RE: BUDGET BE APPROVED

Darlene Blackburn moved that the budget be approved with the changes that were
made. The mill levy would be 18.2. Warren Porter seconded. All Aye.
