MEETING OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Rexburg, Madison
County, State of Idaho, was called to order by Councilman, Barton
Jensen, acting Mayor at 7:30 P. M. on March 3, 1976.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and discussed. Councilman
Warren Porter seconded.

IRE: PETITON FOR CHANGE OF ZONING AT 106 NORTH 3rd EAST TO LIMITED COMMERCIAL
A Petition was presented by Sheila Taggart requesting that the property
located at 106 North 3rd East be zoned limited commercial to enable her
to operate a beauty salon on the premises. The petition has been signed
by 21 neighbors within a 300 foot radius. Councilman Morgan Garner
moved that the change be approved by the Council if it is okayed by the
planning board. Councilman George Catmull seconded. All Aye. It was
okayed by the planning board by telephone. Permission granted.
~E: BUDGET HEARING
The following is an estimate of the amount of money necessary for
all purposes to be raised by taxation or otherwise in the City of Rexburg,
Idaho, during the Fiscal Year ending December 31, 1976, for which an
appropriation is to be made as provided by law; said money to be
apportioned for the purpose of paying indebtedness now existing and to
accrued against the various funds of the City of Rexburg; that said budget
estimate was approved by the Mayor and City Council on the Ilth day of
Feb. 1976, as follows, to-wit:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held and conducted
by and before the City Council fo the City of Rexburg, Idaho in the
Council Chambers in the City Building in Rexburg, Idaho, on Wed. the
3rd day of March, 1976, at 7:30 P. M. of said day, when and where any
interested person may appear and show cause, if any he has, why such
proposed budget should or should not be adopted.
This notice is given pursuant to Section 50-1002, Idaho Code.

City Attorney, Mary Smith asked if there was present anyone protesting the
budget. In as much as there were no protests, Councilman Warren Porter
moved the budget be approved in the amount of $1,135,300.00. Councilman
Nile Boyle seconded.

Councilman George Catmull moved we table decision on plumbing permits.

RE: BID OPENING FOR NEW TRUCKS
Bid .opening on trucks. After having advertised for bids and obtaining
only one bid, that of Erickson Pontiac, the council agreed to purchase
the two trucks from Erickson Pontiac. The City will pay $18,000.00
this year and $18,000.00 next year. Councilman George Catmull moved
that we accept this bid. Councilman Warren Porter seconded.
