The items were discussed and agreed upon. The list will be kept tentative until the final budget can be worked out so we can see what we have to spend. I'RE: FIRE BUDGET TENTATIVE APPROVAL MADE Glenn Peterson read the budget presented by the Fire Chief. Tentative. approval was made. IRE: POLICE AND WATER DEPARTMENTS TO HAVE MEETING ON BUDGET FEB. 26 Mayor John C. Porter recommended having a special meeting with Police Chief Blair K. Siepert to settle his budget, also the Water Department and Park Department. The Council agreed to have a special meeting Wednesday, February 26th at City Hall, at 7:30 P. M. IRE: BILLS APPROVED IRE : ADJOURNMENT Councilman Morgan Garner moved that the bills be approved for payment in the amount of $53,321.20. Councilman Warren Porter seconded. Porter MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO State of Idaho) County of Madison(SS City of Rexburg) Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Rexburg, Madison County was held February 26, 1975, at 7:30 P. M. at the City Hall, being the regular meeting place of said Council, at which meeting there were present and answering roll call, the following, who constituted a quorum: Mayor John C. Porter Councilman: Glenn Peterson Nile Boyle George Catmull Barton Jensen Morgan Garner Absent: Warren Porter Thereupon the following proceedings were taken: IRE: POLICE BUDGET 1 Heard budget request by Police Chief Blair K. Siepert with 16~ salary increase request. The budget was approved for $165,804.00 which was $20,599.03 less than requested. IRE: WATER BUDGET Heard budget request by Jerry Brian. He asked for a total budget ~ _ of $137,590.00. The salary request was reduced $5,800.00 for the ~~~ year. Also the shop remodeling was denied as it was felt by the Council that the water department could use part of the old street department building. The total budget approved was $121,590.00. M. at the City Hall, being the regular meeting place of said Council, at which meeting there were present and answering roll call, the following, who constituted a quorum: Mayor: John C. Porter Councilman: Barton Jensen George Catmull Warren Porter Glenn Peterson Nile Boyle Morgan Garner Also Present: City Attorney, Mary Smith City Clerk, Afton Anderson Guest: Scouts, Pack 301 of the Rexburg Ilth Ward IRE: MINUTES The Minutes of the previous meeting were discussed and corrected. Council- man Barton Jensen moved that the minutes be approved as corrected. Councilman Glenn Peterson seconded. All Aye IRE: REPORT ON AVAILABILITY OF FEDERAL FUNDS Attorney J. D. Hancock reported to the Council on the availability of Federal Funds for the City of Rexburg. Mr. Hancock, has been working for the City to obtain funds for projects which would benefit the City. He is now working on several projects such as parking, sub- standard housing, slum areas, etc. The project for the ball diamonds at the new high school is still being worked on. Mr. Hancock advised that our funds for this project is next on the list. He will report to the Council as soon as he hears back on any of these projects. RE: WELDON STEINER PLANS TO BUILD A SUBDIVISION & PRESENTS PLANS Weldon Steiner plans to build a subdivision out of the City limits. It will be a 40 acre subdivision. He asked the Council what require- ments the City would have. Mayor John C. porter gave him a subdivision ordinance, which he suggested he study. He would have to make his plait plans meet the specifications in this ordinance. }'{e would then
