Present and presiding Mayor Henry Shirley. Council present Barton Jensen, Albert Pieper, Ruth Smith, Glenn Peterson, Richard L. LETTER FROM AIC ABOUT MEETING FOR 12 LARGEST CITIES Mayor read letter from AIC on a meeting for the 12 .largest cities on collective bargining meeting to be held Friday, October 19, 1973, at 10:00 in Boise. After discussion on a representative attending.. Motioned by Pieper that we secure the information on the meeting and follow up, that no one attend the meeting, at this time. .Seconded by Smith. Unanimously carried .,, ARE: DRAINAGE TO REAR OF CITY HALL DISCUSSED Drainage to the rear of the present City Hall was discussed, the run-off from Thompson's building creating flooding into the back door. Davis was assigned to the project to take care of the problem. FEE CUTTER ASSOCIATION TO USE 5TH WEST Smith motioned that the street of 5th West be used by the Cutter association and be used from November 25 through March I0. Seconded by Pieper. Unanimously carried ARE: DISCUSSION ON OPENING OF BIDS FOR BURTENSHAW BUILDING Discussion on the opening of bids for the Burtenshaw building on November 5. Jensen motioned that $34,500 be the appraisal low of appraisal bids, subject to the approval of City Attorney. Seconded by Davis. Porter moved that we place notice in the paper as the appraised value. Seconded by Peterson. Unanimously carried R~JT PLANNING BOARD PRESENT TRAILER ORDINANCE Mrs. Lorin Weber and Leonard Longhurst representing the planning board presented the trailer Ordinance and the changes that they considered. Smith moved that we adopt the Trailer Ordinance on three readings after the final reading. Mary to prepare Ordinance. Seconded by Peterson. SEE AMENDMENT ON PAGE 248. All Aye RE DAVIS MOTIONED WE ADOPT MASTER STREET PLAN Davis motioned that we officially adopt the master street plan for the City and surrounding area. Pieper seconded the motion. Mayor Henry Shirley present and presiding. Council present Barton Jensen, .Albert Pieper, Richard L. Davis, Warren Porter, Glenn Peterson and Ruth Smith. City Attorney Mary Smith, City Clerk 8 Treasurer Beulah Johnson. Reporters Mike Green and Roger Porter. Minutes of October 17, 1973, were read moved by Peterson seconded by Smith same be passed. iJ~ I Unanimously Carried ~E: B1DS ON POLIGE CARS Bids on two police cars were opened Dodge 1970 was bid at $225.00 Plymoth 1972 was bid at $155.00 Only one submitted were by Neal Hendricks. Motioned by Smith seconded by Pieper this be accepted. Unanimously Carried 2E: COLLEGE CANADIAN CLUB DESIRES PROJECT TO HELP Mayor stated that the College Canadian Club desires a project to help the City,and Council to advise the Mayor of possibilities of same 2E; ELECTRICAL BOARD DISCUSSED The need for electrical board was discussed. Jensen motioned that City Attorney draw up an Ordinance regulating same. Seconded by Peterson. Unanimously Carried ;E: BIDS ON BURTENSHAW BUILDING Meeting with the Council with bids for Burtenshaw Building were Dean Pollard Rexburg, Val Dietrich of Dietrich Insurance, Tom Trucker representing the Wilitrust Partnership of Bank of Commerce in Idaho Falls. High bid $34,500 which was the appraisal price, with 10~ down and cash on delivery of Title Insurance and deed. Pollard withdrew from the bidding. Peterson moved we accept Trucker's bid, seconded by Pieper. Unanimously Carried, with acceptance of acheck of $3500.00. i f
