Public hearing held at Utah Power & Light Auditorium, Rexburg, Idaho,
Friday the 16th day of March 1973, at 7:30 o'clock P. M.
President of the City Council Albert Pieper presiding.
Council present Barton Jensen, Richard Davis, Warren Porter, and Rui~h
Smith. Also present City Clerk and Treasurer Beulah Johnson.
Members of the Rexburg Planning Board present, Larry Perkins, Blair
Manwaring, Max. Brinton, Lenore Passey, Mrs. Loren Weber and Wood
Miller.
Attending were Mr. & Mrs. Ken Bird, Dean Birch, Bob Purrington,
,^ Mrs. Emma Williams ~ Daughter, and Cleo Browning.
PROPERTY OWNERS PROTEST, BUT N0 PETITIONS PRESENTED
Mrs. Williams and daughter, Cleo Browning adjoining property owners
were protesting against zoning this area R3, and asking for complete
finished plans before decision is made. However parties against
presented no signed petitions, as as ordinance asks for. Richard L.
Davis moved that legal regular proceedings be presented before -the
Council could vote on same. Seconded by Jensen.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL
MEETING OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO
Regular City Council held April 4, 1973, at City Hall, at 7:30 P. M.
Present and presiding Mayor Henry Shirley.
Council present Ruth Smith, Warren Porter, Richard L. Davis, Barton
Jensen, and Albert Pieper. Absent and excused Glenn Peterson.
City attorney Mary Smith, City Clerk & Treasurer Beulah Johnson.
Reporters Rod Clifford, and Rick Ripley.
ARE: CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AMMENDMENT TO EXISTING BEER ORDINANCE
Harvey Summers again appeared requesting a change in the beer ordinance
requiring him to close his business at midnite. He asked the hour
be extended to comply with the State code governing the sale of
alcoholic beverages, which allows the establishments to remain open
until I:00 A. M. Jensen moved that the City Attorney prepare an
ammendment to the existing ordinance which will conform with the
State code, which has to be read three consecutive council meetings
before it becomes law and opposition may be voiced at that time.
Seconded by Pieper.

ARE: STUDY TO BE MADE ON FUTURE ANNEXATION OF AREA SOUTH OF CITY LIMITS
Mayor- Shirley appointed Davis as chairman, Jensen, Porter and any members
of the planning board to make recommendations and call meetings to study
the future annexation of various area immediately South of the present City
limits. The action resulted from a tentative decision at the last
