Shirley stated eastimated cost to be $50,000, housing for vehicles in part one of the plans. .Second phase call for demolishing otd station, rebuilding or remodling old station and would be financed by revenue sharing funds. COUNCIL MEETING OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO Regular City Council convened March 7, 1973, at the City Hall at 7:30. Present and presiding Mayor Henry Shirley. Council present Ruth. Smith, Glenn Peterson, Barton Jensen, Richard L. Davis, Warren C. Porter, and Albert Pieper. Aiso present was Beulah Johnson City Clerk & Treasurer, Reportes Rod Clifford & Rick Ripley, Mary Smith City Attorney. RE: GOLF COURSE REQUESTS MONEY FOR MOWER Evan Meyers, Ruby Webster, Mrs. Mel Hansen, and Kent Jolley. representing the Rexburg Municipal Golf Course requested money for mower to mow the fairway and rough. They stated that they could purchase one for $2000.OOdown and they need $4000.00 for remodeling the present club house. After discussion Barton Jensen moved that $3000.00 be approved for both projects. Richard Davis seconded the motion. All aye RE: OWNER OF IDAMONT HOTEL ME1 ABOUT RESTRICTING OVERNIGHT PARKING BY HIS BUSINESS Owner of Idamont Hotel Rex Catmull met with the council airing hir~ problems with the Ordinance restricting overnight parking by his business. Tabled until next meeting. RE: CITY ENGINEER PRESENTED PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR LID Clayter Forsgren the City's engineer presented preliminary plans for LID projects this summer. Explaining the new schools cost for their improvement was $150,000. City obligation $96,000. Total project at the time $4000,000.00. With participation of College being $340,000 for their portion. .This was discussed at length and a revenue bond issue needs to be put up for election in the future. Richard L. All Aye RE: TWO ZONING HEARINGS SCHEDULED MARCH 16 Two zoning hearings are to be scheduled March 16 at Utah Power & Light Building. RE: GAS BID PRESENTED t ~' One gas bid for premium received 20.7 + 12.5, rejected because motioned by Richard L. Davis stating that regular gas was ample for ~ all City owned vehicles. Ask Clerk to rebid on regular gasoline. Seconded by Glenn Peterson. All Aye I RE: BID5 FOR POLICE CARS Bids for Police Cars were opened. Ford bidding $2,732.00 -Ford Taylor Chev. 3,625.00 -Chev. All Aye DARWIN WOLFORn'S BILL FOR FROZEN WATER LINES PRESENTED Darwin Wolford's bill for frozen water lines was presented for payment. Richard L. Davis is to investigate the freeze up problem and report back as to who is .liable for payment. PRELIMARY PLAT ON REXBURG HEIGHTS Motioned by Richard L. Davis, seconded by Warren C. Porter that Mayor Shirley sign the prelimary plat on Rexburg Heights being developed by A. M. R. Corp. All Aye RE: ORDINANCES COVERING LICENSES WAS DISCUSSED Ordinances covering licenses was discussed. Mayor turned this over to Barton Jensen for investigation and and see that the City of Rexburg is covered by licneses Ordinances. RE. PETERSON & CLEMENTS ARE MAKING STUDY ON BUILDING A NEW FIRE STATION Mayor Shirley stated that Glenn Peterson and Silas Clements are making a study on building a new fire station that would house Civil defense and the fire department. Also he had official word that, moneys from Civil Defense could be used with revenue sharing for this project. ~ RE: PROPOSED BUDGET Proposed budget for 1973 was discussed. Motioned by Ruth Smith, seconded by Glenn Peterson that it be adopted as prepared, with the public hearing be set for March 21. All Aye i ~,~~ RE: POLICE PAY SCALE FOR 1973 - 1974 ACCEPTED Richard L. Rexburg Heights presented a plan for consideration of City annexation, water and sewer to serve this area in the near future.
