RE: REVIEW OF THE PLANS FOR THE NEW REXBURG TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER
TOPIC: (300,91,,,REXBURG TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER,PLAN REVIEWS)
The reason for the special meeting is to review the plans for the new
Rexburg Tourist Information Center. Bart Stevens, Bill Bergner, and
Clair Boyle were at the meeting to explain the plans and answer
questions. Joe explained, they have indicated the parking places for
the Cottontree Inn which require 100 spaces, the motel requires 38, and
for this new building requires 13 spaces for a total of 151 spaces and
there will be 153 available. Bart said the Peterson family will pay
for the building, parking lot and site improvements. The Chamber,
Economic Development and Dance Festival will lease space from them.
Clair stated that it will probably be M.E.D.C.O. or the Dance Festival
that will eventually own the building. Marsha asked if some point in
time the building was sold would they have enough parking? The parking
would have to go with the building and a joint use agreement on the
driveway. That would leave enough for the motel and the parking can be
expanded. The landscaping exceeds the Landscaping requirement. Marsha
asked about sidewalks. The board would require sidewalks across in
front. Discussion on the size of the sidewalk. Glen Pond stated that
we need to match up with the sidewalk along the street. They will use
on site drainage.
A motion was made by Davawn Beattie and seconded by Jerry Jeppesen that
we approve the site plan with the requirement that the sidewalk be
completed. All Aye
A motion was made by Jeff Walters and seconded by Marsha Bjornn to
adjourn. All Aye.
