In the absence of .~ohn Millar, C-~airman, Glen Pond took charge of the
meeting.
A motion was made by Jim i,ong and seconded by Chris Mix to approve the.
minutes. All A1re.

putting a trophy business in their home. They explained that. they
would like to starg this tro~+hy ~ausiness in Rexburg,. because all the
trophy business is going down to Idaho Falls. They would like to have
a temporary business in their ~o until it got started and then move
the business to a permanent location in the business distract. They
would have a small engraving machine in the basement to engrave on the
trophies. They would not have and signs. It would be a personal.
service and a personal contact or phone call. They would deliver the
trophies wtaen they are fanisiaed. Be said they might have someone come
to .their .home once in a while, but not very often. They would order
supplies out of the catalog: and hCve them delivered by iJ.P.S. This is
zoned Rl which does not .allow a k~dsiness. The Kettles said there are
other businesses on ghat street. A discussion on the definition of a
business and a profession. A motis~n was made by .iim Long to recommend
that we issue a temporary business licence to the Kettles to be
reviewed in one year subject to no conaalaints from your neighbors, that
they will haue ns~ signs and no apreciabletraffic. Seconded by Chuck
Porter.. All Aye:
Glen Pony told the co~nnsttee that we ~rere going to review the parking
far apartments. e have received copies of ordinances on parking. from
Provo, Pocatello, Mgscow and Loan. The group ask the clerk to send
copies to each of them and ha~,Te ~o:?Zn pillar call them after they.. had a
chance to review it for their recommendation on the parking. In turn
John Millar would meet with the Csty Council and make a recommendation..
The Planning Board discussed the harking at the. Ricks Apartment, where
they parking on the .sidewalk. The clerk said she had the Attorney
contact them .and the police chief also contacted them but they are
still doing it. Jim Lang was concerned that we need to decide that we
are going to inforce the ordinances. The Planning Board iold the
building inspector that we need to make him take out the concrete and •
landscape and put in sidewalks. The city clerk said she would again
talk to the attorney and police chief to see if we can get something

• done. The question was ask what if someone has to walk in the street
kbecause they cannot walk on the sidewalk, and he is hit by a car and
killed, would the city be sued? Mr Ricks has painted parking places on
the sidewalk, and talon cut the curb and gutter. That should be
enforceable.
