A meeting of the Planning R~ Zonning Committee for the City of Rexburg, Idaho, held
September 25, 1985, at the City Nall.

Chuck Frost reviewed the minutes of July 31. .A motion was made by Bob ?urrington
and secanded by Gerald Taylor to ap!~rove the minutes. All ;dye
Julie Richards was at the meeting to reduest having a beauty shop in her trailer
located at the Ricks College Trailer Court. She had talked to the manager, who said
there would be no problem. The committee said that was private property owned by
the college and the college does have businesses. They were told to check with
Don Packer at the college and go before their planning committee with the repuest.
They control the businesses that come and go on the college campus.

Johann Essen representing the Kerbs Squire estate. The Kerbs own a niece of pro-
nerty 9 acres just this side of the freeway exit west of the city, The niece of
property is South of the Airport. They are in town to do a preliminary feasibility
study of the potential of ~?utting some kind of business on that property. He said
he understood that a National Burger Chain wants to qo in there on about 1 acre and
they wanted to do somethincl comnata6le with- that, possibly a motel, apartments, or
a truck stop. They wanted it to conform with the area. Chuck Frost said he had
had some business approach him about putting business out there.. They said they'
had been checking with v?rious businesses in totun to see what was needed. The north
side of the city and also the south side of the city ryas also discussed for further
business. Thev were told that the area that they are interested in is not in the
city limits but it is in the impact area. They were told to go in and talk to the
Mayor the next day and also to check with. the HighiA~ay Department to net a traffic
count.
