Meeting called to order 26 September 1979 by Bob Purrington at 7:35 p.m.
Minutes of 25 July 2979 were read and approved.
29 August 1979 Planning & Zoning Meeting:

Pdo business transacted because of a lack of a quorum.

1, City Clerk to send Mr. Benton a Sub-Division Ordinance.
2. March or April minutes for check lists.
BUSINESS:
1. Public hearing for AMR az~n•exation was, opened. No one attended.
2. r1r. Benton of Benton Engineering presented AMR proposed annexation of
Heritage Estates.
Advantages
a. Clean-up sewer problems in
Rexburg Heights.
b. Control on streets, sidewalks,
zoning, etc.
c. Future tax revenues from
property developed.
d. County residences still use
some City facilities even if -
not annexed. Churches, schools,
parks, etc, are not either
advantage or disadvantage.

Disadvantages
a. Obligation for street maintenance,
snow removal on Skyview Drive.
b. Provide sewer service with inadequate-
. ly sized plant,
c. Obligation for fire and police pro-
tection to area..
d, Already large sub-division approved
for development within City limits.

No one showed for public hearing in annexation of AMR property scheduled for
26 September (this meeting). Mr. Benton stated that AMR is anxious to
have a decision from Planning & Zoning in favor of annexation.
Motion by Chuck Frost: Because of the lack of Public imput, AT~4R's..
request for annexation be referred to the City Council without a
Planning & Zoning recommendation; that -the Council hold a well-
publicized hearing of their own. Seconded by Dan Hess. Passed Unanimously.
3. Mr. Benton agreed to bring a preliminary platt to the next Planning & Zoning
meeting.
