Larry Perkins, Max Brinton, Wendell Ritchie, Bernice Burkett
Ralph Prestwich and Wendell Ritchie were excused early due to
other commitments.
Minutes of the June 9 meeting were read and approved.
DeWayne Wilding stated that he and Max Brinton had checked out the
Auto Garage~Building and the Don Ricks property and found that everything
was in order.
DeWayne Wilding mentioned that Tom Matthews said that it would be
of help to him if there were fire zones in town. Rexburg has a fire code
for the business district but needs fire zones all over the City. Some
college housing units are fire hazards. There should be a fire code to
match each zone.

and land development on the north side of 7th South. He was offered a copy
of the city map and zoning laws and was requested to bring a plot plan to
the Board.
Myron Lewis appeared before the Board and submitted a petition,
signed by several people, which opposed the location of the sanitary 1ar_d
fill in the northeast area of the City. DeWayne Wilding assured Mr. Lewis
that he would present the petition to the City Council and County
Commissioners. After Mr. Lewis left, there was-some further discussion
regarding the land fill and a vote from the Board was taken as follows:
Max Brinton: Opposed the location because this area was recently
zoned R2 which does not permit a land fill and also
because it is close to a school.
Lenore Passey: Opposed to any land fill within the City Limits.
Wood Miller:. Opposed to location within City Limits.
Larry Perkins: Opposed
A letter was drafted by the Board stating their comments on the favorable

was mailed Friday, June 23, 1971. Copy of letter is attached.
