PLANNING BOARD MEETING
June 9, 1971 at 7:30 p.m.
Present: Dewayne Wilding, Blair Manwaring, Wendell Ritchie, Lenore Passey,
Wood Miller, Larry Perkins, Max Brinton, Bernice Burkett
Minutes of the May 12 meeting were read and approved.

Max Brinton reported that the Auto Garage building belonging to Harold
Harris is being built and that the completed plan for this building was never
presented to the Planning Board.
Remodeling of the Don Ricks property was discussed and it was stated
that na permit was requested for this work.
It was brought out that Mansard Village has adequate parking space but
has not complied with the building code.
Some building is going on in areas that have not yet been zoned.
Zoning beyond the City Limits was discussed. It was stated that if the
County were zoned there would be no problem: It was recommended that the
College area be zoned.
Dewayne Wilding stated that the Board should get started on some
recommendations for zoning as soon as possible and that the City should
report back to~the Planning Board what action has been taken.
The various proposed new highway routes were .discussed and it was decided
to hold another meeting on June 23 to determine what procedure to follow in
getting various groups together to voice opinions on these routes.-
Mr. Brinton reported that the Environmental Group would like comments
from the various .City Civic and Commerce people and the County people by
July 1st and that the study has to go back to Washington. Dewayne Wilding
suggested that the comments should come from the majority and should`be in
agreement.
It was suggested that a reporter sit in on the Planning Board Meetings
and the name of David Blye was submitted.
The meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
