Discussion of spot zoning or re-zoning occupied t'~?e business of the
evening.
A request by Mrs. Ted Garner to rezone block 22, which is now Rte,
to r~ermit construction of an apartment house ti~Tas studied. The decision
of the board was that the block remain R 2 entirely without any spot

George Lewis requested permission to put a cold storage unit near
his ho~te on center street (block 48}. As this is an R 2 area, the
use of commercial trucks there would create a hazard. The board did
not approve the rEOUest. :''

It was noted that one section in the _ differs from
the rest of this area which is R 1. Recommendation was made that all
of the - tion be zoned R 1.
Dr. Lester Petersen requested permission to build a clinic on Fast
nnain street i~~ block 1. Thus block is zoned R 1 which does not permit
this type of building.
A request from Jesse NeidererY~~to construct a clinic building on
the east corner of Block 2 on main street was presented. This block
~.s zoned Fc 1 and does not permit commercial buildings.
The Planning Board recommends that if clinics are permitted in
these two areas on main street then the ent3_re south side of main
street be zoned commercial. Due to petitions circulated by property
flwne~'s a~rainat such buildings, tbE board believed these owners would
also be against down zoning from R 1 to Commercial. The board's
recommendation is that such buildings not bE permitted there.
The area between 4 and 5 East a,nd let and 2nd North should be
zoned R 2. This zoning should ext^nd 2 block east a.nd 12 blocks
north and south. In that it isn't presently zoned, the consensus
of the board is that it should be zoned immediately to prevEnt
undesirable. conditions to exist near the site of th® future high
school.

building or mozTing of housing. units. This should be available at
City Hall.
