lfay I2, 1952 8:00 P.~i. Jack Touts Office
Discussions on School Gy-m Problems:
The Planning Board asked to publish a statement favoring the
passage of a Bond election with present plans. Chairman. Packer discussed
the seriousness and bitter feeling and questioned making a statement.
President Clark favors the passing of Bonds and believes that even
if we have a County unit in the future these improvements would fit in
with Count~T Plans .
Jack Tout recommended more intensive work in 'areas where there is
opposition. Money spent in taxes for schools are deductible from Federal
Taxes and some of this money syphoned off would stay at home.
Suggestions. were made that the Planning Board point out publicly that
the schools have not been improved for twenty years and with the increase in
population our schools need improving to keep up with the general needs of
the County.
• The Planning Board members expressed themselves individually in favor of
.the Bond issue. Helping to get out the vote would be important. Jack Tout
was chosen to represent the Planning Board to help organize and to get out
the voters.
