The regular meeting was planning board was held at the rexburg city hall.
The following members were present.
David L. Davell
HW Jacobsen
Ralph Parker
Lowell Barrick
Dave Manwaring
Richard L. Davis
HB Fitzpatrick
Richard L. Davis stated that the city employees would plant and care for trees.
Chairman Ralph A. Parker made a review of all plans & recommendations made in
the cast by the planning board and what had been done on these recomendations.
A discussion was held on the advisability of making a street thru Block 8-
and whether or not condemnation proceding should be forced to acquire property to
make this street. It was suggested that D.G. Taylor be contacted add asked to look
into the matter of getting all interested parties to give the necessary land for this
street.
It was brought out that some of the sewer pipe in town was in very
bad shape and that a check should be madew at every possible opportunity to see what
state of repair this is in throughout the city.
The secretary was instructed to writed to Preston to get information as to
costs of sewage disposal system-
Mtion was made by D. Manwaing that chairman parker contact Oswald Christensen
and determine whether or not he is going to be able to follow up on the work he
was doing in finding out about what could be done about a new Post Office Bldg.
It was suggested that if he was not able to do so, then Mr. Parker should appoint a new
committee and see if some action could not be had in this matter. This motion was duly
seconded and approved unanimously.
It was suggested that Chairman Parker contact the Merchants committee of the
CHamber of Commerce and get them to see about some new Neon Signs for the Blds.
A motion was made by Dabell that the Planning Board accept the resignation of
Alton Anderson as secretary of the planning board and that Howard B. Fitzpatrick be
appointed in his place. This was seconded and passed unanimously.
Motion was made for adjournment. This was seconded and passed-meeting was adjourned
at 10 pm.
