Planning board meeting held at
the City hall at 8 pm. Monday
Nov 1, 1948.
Present were Ralph Parker, Dave
Dabell, Lowell Barrick, D.G. Taylor, and Alton
Anderson. D.H. Manwaring.
There was a brief discussion of
the hospital project. The architect expects
to have plans ready to meet with the
directors within ten days. The bonds
have not yet been offered for sale by
county commissionors.
The recreation project was discussed.
Mr. Parker reported that the county commissionors
were favorable to the project and
offered to help in any way that they can.
Mr Taylor recommended that
the chairman follow up and see that
the necessary pipe be obtained and
arrangements made to install it.
Ralph Parker reported that Tom Smith
is pushing General Walch to get
approval of government for armory building.
Several members of planning board
reported very poor telephone service.
Dave Manwaring recommended that the
manager of the telephone company
be called into the planning board meeting
to discuss the problem.
The recommendation was made that
the secretary write preston for information
regarding their sewer disposal plant.
Dave Manwaring made a motion
that city council see that there
is adequate lighting on the railroad
crossing at main, first north,
and second north. It was recommended
that signal lights be placed. Seconded by Lowell
Barrick. Passed unanimously.
THere was a motion that
the board recommend agin that the
city council take steps to properly
designate and mark the streets.
Motion by D.H. Manwaring seconded by
Anderson. Passed unanimously.
