City of Rexburg Public Gathering/Parade Permit
Public gathering permit application for events in a public street or venue that will have an impact
on the public.
Reference: Ordinance 759 & Ordinance 810 - An application for a permit shall be filed with the City Clerk at least
FORTY-FIVE days (45) and not more than one year before the parade or public assembly is proposed to commence. An
"Expedited Application Fee" of $25.00 will be added if received less than 21 days prior to the event

The City of Rexburg has 2 approved 5K Race Routes.

Evergreen Park 5K Race Route
If either of these routes do not work for you, you must submit your route for approval at least 30 days prior to
your event. Written permission from land owners must be submitted if private property is included in your route.
Please exclude high traffic streets from your proposed route, such as, North 2nd East, Main St, South 2nd West,
Yellowstone Hwy, etc. to circumvent shutting down main thoroughfares and disrupting traffic flows for the safety of the
participants, pedestrians, and drivers.

Please give a complete description of event
This event will consist of two primary race distances—a 5K and a half marathon—
both starting and finishing at Porter Park. The race is designed primarily for
undergraduate students, who will have the opportunity to compete for prizes,
including a $500 scholarship.
The start and finish area at Porter Park will also feature event sponsors and
vendors. Spectators are expected, and designated viewing areas will be clearly
marked near the start and finish lines.

Please indicate your plan for crowd control at this event
Both races will follow clearly marked routes extending beyond the park into
designated routes. Crowd control measures will focus on participant and public
safety. We will insure the race will not impede pedestrian or vehicle traffic.The start
and finish areas will be clearly defined using cones, signage, and temporary
barricades where necessary. Volunteers will be used to direct participants and they
will be easily identifiable by either vest or Company T-shirts.
This permit must be present at the event, and must be available upon request

Additional fees may be added if City Services are needed for an event. Additional costs will be calculated during
the City approval process.

Any other gatherings in the same area at the same time are not to be disturbed.
With the issuance of the permit, the applicant is responsible for the crowd control. If any disturbances of any sort
occur; the City of Rexburg Police Department has the right to revoke this permit at any time.
Upon notification of permit approval, Payment for services due seven (7) calendar days prior to the
event, or the event may be canceled.
If damage or excessive cleanup is needed to restore city property back to its previous condition, you may be billed
restoration fees.
