HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 96.07- Funds, Idaho Community Block GrantCity of Rexburg, Idaho RESOLUTION: ~~~ Authorizing Resolution "A Resolution to Submit an Application r for an Idaho Community Development Block Grant to Assist in the ~' Construction of 7th South Street (from South Yellowstone to Second East) and the Improvement of the City Water System" WHEREAS, the City Council desires to develop 7th South Street to provide a new major `' access road into the southern area of the city in the east-west direction to diminish the effects of the closure of Viking Drive (4th South); and f: WHEREAS, the City Council desires to alleviate a serious traffic condition due to increased traffic in the area of Madison Middle School, the large secondary school at the intersection of South Yellowstone Highway and 7th South; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create a primary arterial road to provide the south 's portion of the City of Rexburg with access to US 20; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to construct a new waterline, storage tank, and booster pumping station in the northern part of town to increase storage capacity, improve fire ~' flow, and increase pressure for the northeast part of the city; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to submit an Idaho Community Development Block Grant Application to the Idaho Department of Commerce for a Public Facility Grant to assist in ~, the construction of the 7th South Street and Water System Improvement Project. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT: The City Council of the City of Rexburg hereby authorizes the submission of the Idaho '' Community Development Block Grant Application to the Idaho Department of Commerce for ~' funds to assist in the construction of the 7th South Street and Water System Improvement Project. The City Council also authorizes Nile L. Boyle, Mayor of Rexburg, to sign and execute the '." Application and associated documents. RESOLVED this ~h day of November , 1996.
