I was born and raised in Rexburg, and for the past five years my business has worked throughout the city providing lawn maintenance. Being in neighborhoods every day gives me a close view of how Rexburg is changing and how housing challenges are affecting the people who live and work here. I am writing in support of the proposed Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment and rezoning for the property near 204 S 5th W. Many working families, young professionals, and long-time residents are finding it increasingly difficult to afford housing in Rexburg. Providing additional housing in appropriate locations is one way to help people stay in the community they already call home. This property is well located for a modest increase in residential use. It sits along a collector street, is close to services, and is surrounded by development that reflects a gradual transition in this part of the city.Adjusting the zoning here allows growth to occur where infrastructure already exists, rather than placing added pressure on quieter residential areas. What matters most to me is that new development can be done in a way that respects nearby neighbors. With thoughtful design, clear standards, and attention to how the site connects to surrounding homes, this project has the potential to fit well into the neighborhood and provide needed housing without disrupting the area's character. For clarity, I have no financial interest in this property. While I do know the applicant personally, my support comes solely from my experience as a local business owner and longtime resident who sees the need for well-planned housing in Rexburg. Thankyou foryour time and service to the community. I respectfully support approval of this request and appreciate your careful approach to managing growth in a way that benefits both current residents and future neighbors. Jorge L. Vasquez i
