Dear Rexburg City Council,
Before tonight's meeting, we hope to share a brief thought. While we are not certain of the exact
timeframe required to create our city's Comprehensive Plan, we do understand that an immense amount
of time, research, public interest, and dedication went into its development. My husband and I have
attended multiple meetings and have gained a small glimpse into the care and effort involved in that
process.
We are deeply concerned that an out-of-state developer, Mr. Marco Diaz, is now seeking to change this
carefully constructed plan.We are particularly alarmed that the Planning and Zoning Commission would
support amendments to the Comprehensive Plan along 12th West, as well as changes to the existing
zoning.
Given concerns about increased traffic stress on 12th West and neighboring roads, dense population
without adequate frontage road access or overpass approval, and overall safety, we respectfully urge
you to use yourvoice to reject this proposal at tonight's City Council meeting and to uphold the
integrity of the Comprehensive Plan that reflects the long-term vision of our community.
