Deb,
I decided it was easiest for me to draft a letter with an update regarding the fundraiser concert with John Schmitt of
the Piano Guys.
City Council Members,
As you are aware, the city has been working with BYUI to get an artist to perform as part of the Rexburg Tabernacle
Fundraising Campaign.
We have included this in the budget for FY 2026.
BYUI has a contract with John Scmitt of the Piano Guys to perform at the BYUI Center on February 21 st as part of
the Center Stage Series. BYUI has agreed to donate the facility, staff, sell the tickets, and help advertise the event
on campus as part of their Center Stage Series, but this concert will specifically be a fundraiser for the Rexburg
Tabernacle. Any proceeds after covering the artist costs, sales tax,and a few hard costs would be remitted to the
city and booked as a contribution.
John Schmitt has also agreed to work with the City of Rexburg and be a special guest on February 20t"at the
Tabernacle for a fundraising GALA that will be put on the by the City of Rexburg Cultural Arts Department and the
Tabernacle Legacy Campaign Committee.
The city has also received a commitment from Beehive Federal Credit Union to donate$25,000 to$30,000 to be
the title sponsor for the event.
The pricing would be a ticket price of between$15 to$50 for students/BYUI Staff and $20 to$60 for community
patrons. Price would be dictated by location of the seat.
The following are predictions of how much could be fundraised based on ticket sales and the Title Sponsorship
Combined:
• 3,730 tickets $45,700 Projected Contributions raised
• 5,968 tickets $97,400 Projected Contributions raised
• 7,461 tickets $121,800 Projected Contributions raised
The city is very appreciative of BYU-I and those we have worked with on campus to make this happen, as well as
the Title Sponsor Beehive Federal Credit Union. Pepsi is also going to help us advertise in local grocery stores as
the event approaches.
Any money raised would be applied towards the capital projects we have been working on. The current capital
project we are working on is the HVAC project.
Feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions.
