Rex burg.org 1. Roll Call of Committee Members: President Empey, L. Jones, D. Jones, J. Patten, City Liaison Tietjen, and City Liaison Platt. 2. City Liaison Tietjen reported Mayor Merrill signed Certified Local Government (CLG) documents. L, Jones asked if Historic Preservation Commission gets a line in city budget? City Liaison Tietjen and Platt will follow up with SHPO and city attorneys. 3. Go through city treasurer for funding or reimbursement. 4. Contact Deb Lovejoy to add to City Council agenda. 5. President Empey and L. Jones will write up recommendations for June's Place. 6. Pump house presentation at City Council. Council seemed in favor of exploring further. 7. Family Crisis Center/ Marie Harris wants info on her building, wants flood medallion. 8. Suggestion that the medallion be a window decal, removable for businesses that do not own their properties, with the plan to purchase medallions as owners are interested. 9. City Liaison Platt said Jules Thompson is project manager for Flood 50. They are working on walking tour on Main Street. Self guided tours will run from June 1-6, 10am-6pm. There are three start locations: City Hall, Romance Theater, and one other. Additional plans are in the works for the event. 10. Expanding on Sports tourism, we need more culture tourism. A historic district would improve economic impact, rejuvenate town, and foster ownership of heritage and community. 11. Survey asking residents what are the most vulnerable properties in or around College Ave, Main Street, downtown Main. 12. Connect with Urban Renewal for next meeting. 13.
