Definition:
Skybridge. An enclosed, elevated pedestrian bridge extending from building face to building face that spans a public street, public alley, or is located within private property.
3.09.010 Purpose
To establish appropriate locations for skybridges, maintain pedestrian safety, and ensure the design of skybridges contributes to the built and natural environment.
Skybridges shall be subject to administrative review and require an approved Conditional Use Permit (CUP).
3.09.020 Skybridge Standards for all Zones
Skybridges:
Shall maintain a minimum clearance of sixteen (16’) feet six (6”) between the bottom of the skybridge and the public street or alley.
Shall have a minimum interior width of eight (8’) feet, not exceeding fourteen (14’) feet.
Must be maintained and kept in good condition. The maintenance of heating, cooling, lighting, cleaning, repair, replacement, etc. are the responsibility of the building owner(s).
Skybridge interiors shall be free of obstructions.
