CHAPTER 14
FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
31-1416. FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICTS ARE GOVERNMENTAL SUBDIVISIONS OF IDAHO
AND BODIES POLITIC AND CORPORATE. Every fire protection district upon being
organized as provided by this chapter shall be a governmental subdivision of
the state of Idaho and a body politic and corporate, and as such has the power
specified in this chapter. Its powers can be exercised only by the fire
protection board or by agents and officers acting under their authority, or
authority of law. The name of the district designated in the order of the board
of county commissioners declaring the territory duly organized as a fire
protection district, shall be the corporate name of such district, and it must
be known and designated thereby in all actions and proceedings touching its
corporate right, property and duties.
