HomeMy WebLinkAboutRe_ Expiration Notice 22-00383Brooke, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. That is good news, and makes sense. Much appreciated! So, you will not need to worry about fixing that item. Also, if you are planning to fix those items and sell it as a short-term rental you will need to call in that inspection once ready so we can pass it off. Thank you! One question: the City never followed up with us on the Parking item. Do you have the update on that? I will say that when we bought the property, we were told the parking space area that is located on the property belongs to us (not the City), as it sits within our property's legal boundaries. Also, the City never maintains that parking space or snowplows it or anything, so I'd assume it is our valid parking space. Can you please let me know the feedback on that? This house cannot be sold as a Short-Term Rental property because it has not passed the inspection process. If you are selling this house advertised as a Short-Term Rental, you will need to correct the failed items on the inspection report before the property is sold. If you are selling it just as a family home or a long-term rental property (NOT short term) we will cancel this permit for you. I have attached the inspection report just in case you are selling it as a Short-Term Rental property. If you have any questions, you can reach me at this email or our office at 208-372-2166. We're actually selling the property - we are currently in escrow. So at this point, this will no longer be applicable to us. Thanks! Recently, the City of Rexburg Building Department has undertaken an effort to go through existing permits that have not been completed. The Short Term Rental project at 376 W 4th S, never received a final inspection. The permit for the project was issued 6/2/2022, and the last inspection was completed on 6/22/2022. As stated in the 2018 International Residential Code, which has been adopted by the City of Rexburg, “every permit issued shall become invalid…if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced”. In order to avoid any additional fees, please contact our office within 30 days of receiving this letter to renew this permit by leaving a message on the hotline (208.372.2344) to complete the required inspections. Otherwise, the permit will be considered expired, and the City of Rexburg Building Department will deem this space “unfinished”. Please contact the Building Department office if you have any questions. We can be reached at 208.372.2166.
