Subject: Agenda Item on Restaurant Contract at Teton Lakes Clubhouse

Consider 2025 at Teton Lakes.pdf
Hello City Council Members,
I thought it would be good to give you our Golf Pro's thoughts on whether we should renew a new contract in April
with our current restaurant vendor at Teton Lakes Clubhouse(see attached from Cam in Word Doc). Please look it
over and we will plan to discuss it on Wednesday night at the City Council meeting. The County Commissioners
also talked about it today in their meeting and Brent Mendenhall is hoping to be present at our City Council
meeting to represent them as well.
As mentioned on the agenda, the Golf Board recommendation from our last Board meeting was to not recommend
renewing the contract in April.
To summarize the points of concern they include:
• Smoking food on site/smoke smells
• Parking for both golf patrons and restaurant patrons during the busy golf season
• Inconsistency of hours with food vendor in the past
• Takes away from Golf
o Pace of Play potential concerns
o Parking concerns
o Loss of Opportunity to utilize that space for golf events/tournaments and or other golf related
activities
Cam has also offered an alternative option on his writeup for consideration.
Although our decision Wednesday is to determine whether to extend the contract, I think it is good to see what the
other options could be, and I have provided an estimate of the financials for some of those options that are also
attached to consider.
Deb,
Please make available in the packet as well.
I have included the Golf Board in this email, and they are more than welcome to attend the Council Meeting if they
desire on Wednesday at 6:30 pm at City Hall(enter from West Doors) and it would be good for them to see Cam's
writeup and the options I have tried to summarize.
Thanks All

FYI
I asked Cam to summarize his concerns about renewing the contract with Blisters.
See attached
I also asked him to add another option that he would recommend to look at. look it over and feel
free to discuss it with other elected officials or share it.
The financial aspect of his option is still a little unclear, and we would need to vet that out
somewhat, but I'm pretty confident we will likely not make as much as we do renting the facility,
but I do agree with Cam that it would give us some other opportunities and controlling the space
has some benefits.
We can further discuss on Monday as well.
Thanks
Matt
