I am writing as the representative of 14 of the 18 Lots within the Rexburg West, Division I
Subdivision; or 78% of the owners.
Also the approximately 18 acres bordering the Subdivision on the North.
We are writing to STRONGLY OBJECT to the Public Hearing (24-00226):
Re-Zoning Rexburg West, Division I Subdivision; Block 1 Lots 2 & 3; from MU to CBC.
I am currently out of town and will not be able to attend the hearing in person; I am hopeful to
be able to join online, but wanted to register Our objection.
It is disappointing and surprising that the applicants; nor anyone else, have ever addressed or
discussed this issue with us.
Regardless; Some of Our Objections are (none exclusively) :
1. The Re-Zone from CBC to MU; was approved 12-15-21.
2. The MU Zone matched the City's Comprehensive Plan at the origination of the
Subdivision. Discussions with the City Ready Team, P & Z, City Council, etc.; gave unanimous
consent and support; prior to Our beginning Development.
3. MU provides increased employment opportunities, increased taxes, increased hospitality
revenues, increased Community, increased efficiencies of utilities, traffic, etc.
4. We began marketing Our Subdivision and the adjoining property, and We Continue to
market The Properties with the approved Zoning in place.
5. A change in Zoning at this stage would create a significant loss in value and considerable
losses to Us.
6. The applicants purchased their lots with the MU Zoning in effect and recorded.
7. If the current Zoning is not agreeable to the applicants, they may sell their lots and secure a
more favorable location.
There may be other concerns we may have after additional time and consideration.
Please consider Our Concerns and Objections and give it your utmost importance.
