Dear Mayor and City Council,
Unfortunately, I am unable to be here tonight as I have a family event that I need to attend. I am writing this letter to let you know that the Department of Economic Development recognizes
the need for and the benefit of Impact Fees to the community. However, we also recognize the potential for these fees to be a significant challenge to growth, particularly for businesses.
While no one has pointed to these fees specifically as a reason not to come, there are those who are considering coming that have raised them as a concern, especially entering a smaller
market like Rexburg. It is true that others have paid them, but non<e without hesitation and questioning.
We are not asking to eliminate Impact Fees, but rather express our desire to frequently review these fees and being open to discussions on other creative possibilities.
