The Contractor shall select the proper Erosion Control Best Management Practices (BMP's) from the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Catalog of Stormwater Best Managment Practices. See ISPWC sections 206, 207, 1000 and DEQ's website for Catalog and further detail. 2.The BMP Catalog provides technical guidance for construction site design and selecting storm water best management practices (BMPs) as well as information on permitting requirements for storm water discharges in Idaho. It includes BMPs to prevent discharge of pollutants from developing areas, both during the construction phase and for the life of the development. A BMP is a physical, chemical, structural, or managerial practice that prevents, reduces, or treats storm water contamination or prevents or reduces soil erosion. The goal of the BMP catalog is to provide general information on the design of a storm water management plan, selection of storm water BMPs, and technical information on the design, installation, and maintenance of BMPs. This information is primarily intended for design professionals, landowners, developers, and construction contractors. 3.This Erosion Control Plan does not constitute a full Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). 4.The Contractor is required to file a Notice of Intent (NOI) with the DEQ for a SWPPP Construction General Permit (CGP) under the Idaho Pollution Discharge Elimination System Program (IPDES). See DEQ's website for further details. Post the NOI near the entrance to the project and keep an up to date copy of the SWPPP on site easily accessible to the SWPPP operators, DEQ, City or County personnel, including site maps showing where each BMP is or will be installed. 5.It is the Contractors responsibility to install and maintain all Erosion Controls or Best Management Practices (BMP). A full list of BMP's with instructions and drawings can be found on the Idaho DEQ website. 6.All contractors providing services on the project which may affect the SWPPP or Erosion Control Plan will be given access to the SWPPP and appropriate training as needed. Training records to be kept onsite with the SWPPP. 7.All BMP's/Erosion Control Measures will need to be inspected and maintained by the contractor throughout the life of the project until close-out. 8.Inspections shall be performed by the contractor at a minimum bi-weekly interval and within 24 hours of a 1/2" or greater storm event. Inspections are to be documented and kept onsite with the SWPPP. 9.Sediment deposits are to be removed after each rainfall event or until they reach 1/2 the height of the barrier. 10.Contractor is responsible to adjust erosion control measures as the project progresses including grading changes. 11.Native topsoil on site is to be preserved wherever possible. Protect soil storage piles from run-on and runoff. 12.Immediately stabilize exposed portions of the site whenever construction work will stop for more than 14 days 13.Install perimeter controls on downhill lot lines or boundaries such as fiber rolls or silt fence. 14.Install and maintain a stabilized construction entrance to reduce sediment track-out. Clean up any sediment track-out by the end of the same work day. 15.Install inlet protection on existing catch basins and infiltration structures on or adjacent to the project site as well as any catch basins or infiltration structures constructed as part of the project. 16.Dust to be kept down by spraying dry areas with water or dust control polymers as needed. 17.Provide protection for construction materials that could leach pollutants during a precipitation event. 18.Clearly identify separate waste disposal areas on site for hazardous waste, construction waste and domestic waste and protect from run-on and runoff. 19.Install a leak proof concrete washout basin 20.Contractor to install and maintain energy dissipation, erosion control and soil stabilization measures for all stormwater point source discharge areas from run-on and runoff including onsite stormwater outlet structure discharges. 21.Temporary and permanent swales and detention ponds may need to be installed and utilized and necessary to reduce the velocity of runoff and enhance particle settling. 22.Landscape site as soon as possible to avoid higher stormwater sheet flow volumes and velocities and to avoid soil erosion and transfer. 23.Upon construction completion remove all sediment and debris from all permanent stormwater retention areas and structures. 24.All temporary erosion control BMP's will be removed after final stabilization is achieved or after BMP's are not longer needed. 25.Final stabilization including landscaping is required prior to terminating permit coverage.
