GENERAL
1.THESE SPECIFICATIONS SUPPLEMENT THE 2020 EDITION OF THE ISPWC SPECIFICATIONS AND DRAWINGS, AND
2022 CITY OF REXBURG ENGINEERING STANDARDS WHICH CONSTITUTE THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THIS PROJECT. ALL WORK SHALL BE COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE SPECIFICATIONS, THE PROJECT
DRAWINGS, AND ALL APPLICABLE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS AS INCLUDED IN ISPWC.
2.THE CONTRACTOR IS TO HAVE A COMPLETE COPY OF THE LATEST EDITION OF ISPWC AT THE JOBSITE DURING
CONSTRUCTION.
3.UTILITY LOCATES SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. RETAIN AND PROTECT ALL EXISTING
UTILITIES AND STRUCTURES UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED. KEEP COVER OVER DRY UTILITIES IN EXCAVATING
THE SWALES.
4.COMPLY WITH CITY OF REXBURG PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS FOR SITE WORK. COMPLY WITH THE CITY OF
REXBURG WATER AND SEWER REQUIREMENTS AND OBTAIN PERMIT TO CONNECT TO THE WATER AND SEWER
MAINLINES AND PAY CONNECTION FEES.
5.IT REMAINS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLY WITH THE STORMWATER BEST MANAGEMENT
PRACTICES AND STATE AND FEDERAL EROSION CONTROL REQUIREMENTS. THIS SITE IS BETWEEN ONE AND FIVE
ACRES, SO AN EPA LOW EROSIVITY WAIVER MAY BE OBTAINABLE IN LIEU OF A FULL SWPPP AND ASSOCIATED EPA
PERMIT. FOLLOW THE DEQ BMP REQUIREMENTS OF ISPWC DIVISION 1000 SPECIFICATION AND DETAILS. SEE
SHEET G-2.
6.IF OWNER DESIRES, OBTAIN SERVICES OF AN INDEPENDENT TESTING FIRM AND PAY FOR MATERIALS TESTING OF
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS. FOLLOW TEST FREQUENCIES AND METHODS IN ISPWC.
7.EXTERIOR LIGHTING PLAN IS TO BE PREPARED BY OTHERS OR IS TO BE PART OF THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION.
8.STRIPE PARKING AREAS ACCORDING TO SECTION 1104.

AGGREGATE, CONCRETE AND PAVEMENT
1.PLANT MIX PAVEMENT SHALL BE HALF-INCH MAXIMUM AGGREGATE SIZE MEETING CLASS III OR BETTER
REQUIREMENTS OF TABLE 1 OF SECTION 810 OR MEET SUPERPAVE SP-2 REQUIREMENTS USING PG 58-28 OR
BETTER ASPHALT BINDER IN ACCORDANCE WITH PARAGRAPH 805.2.1.C AND SECTION 810. ASPHALT PLANT MIX
SHALL CONFORM TO APPLICABLE ISPWC SPECIFICATIONS.
2.CRUSHED AGGREGATE BASE SHALL BE ¾” (-) CRUSHED CONFORMING TO ISPWC TYPE I PER TABLE 1 OF ISPWC
SECTION 802.
3.UNCRUSHED AGGREGATE BASE: MAXIMUM SIX-INCH SUBBASE MATERIAL (PIT RUN) CONFORMING TO TABLE 1 OF
ISPWC SECTION 801.
4.PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE: USE A CLASS 4000 AIR ENTRAINED (6.5%+/-1.5%) CONCRETE MIX PER SECTION
703.2.4, TABLE 2 FOR EXTERIOR CONCRETE. CLASS F FLY ASH MUST HAVE LESS THAN 1.5% AVAILABLE ALKALIS
AS Na2O PER ISPWC.
5.PIPE BEDDING: USE TYPE I OR TYPE III PIPE BEDDING. PEA GRAVEL MAY ALSO BE USED.
6.CONSTRUCT SIDEWALK ACCORDING TO THE DETAILS AND NOTES GIVEN ON SD-709.
7.FINISH SIDEWALKS WITH A LIGHT BROOM FINISH PER SECTION 706.
8.INSTALL CRACK CONTROL JOINTS IN SIDEWALK EVERY 5' ALONG YELLOWSTONE HWY AND EVERY 7' ON THE REST
OF THE PROJECT. INSTALL EXPANSION JOINTS EVERY 50' PER CITY OF REXBURG ENGINEERING STANDARDS.
9.PLACE CURING COMPOUND ON NEW CONCRETE SIDEWALKS IMMEDIATELY AFTER FINISHING. CURE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 705.3.8.
10.THE SPOILS FROM SWALE CONSTRUCTION MAY BE USED AS SUBBASE FOR AREAS TO BE PAVED IF CONTRACTOR
CAN DEMONSTRATE, THROUGH MATERIALS TESTING, THAT MATERIAL IS SUITABLE AS SUBBASE ACCORDING TO
TABLE 1 OF SECTION 801.
WATER
1.PROVIDE DR 11 HDPE WATER SERVICE PIPE AND FITTINGS PER SECTION 401.2.2. AND MEETING CITY OF REXBURG
REQUIREMENTS.
2.TRACE WIRE: PROVIDE LOCATING WIRE ALONG SERVICE LINE PER ISPWC SECTION 401.2.10.
3.PROTECT DRINKING WATER SYSTEM INSIDE OF THE BUILDING WITH RPZ BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICES ON
ALL NON-POTABLE USES.
SEWER
1.CONSTRUCT SEWER MAIN AND SERVICE LINES WITH STANDARD PVC SDR 35 SEWER SERVICE PIPE PER CITY OF
REXBURG SPECIFICATIONS.
2.PROVIDE PIPE LOCATING WIRE WITH THE SEWER SERVICE LINE. WIRE IS TO BE ACCESSIBLE AT CLEANOUT.

ALL EROSION CONTROL SHALL CONFORM TO DIVISION 1000 OF THE ISPWC
AND THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY IDAHO CATALOG
OF STORM WATER BEST MANGEMENT PRACTICES. THE FOLLOWING BMPs
MAY BE APPLICABLE TO THIS PROJECT; HOWEVER, CONTRACTOR IS
ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR FINAL APPLICATION OF BMPs.
GENERAL BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES (SELECTED DETAILED IDEQ BMPs
FROM THE CATALOG OF STORM WATER BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES:
#36 TIMING OF CONSTRUCTION
THROUGH CAREFUL SCHEDULING AND SEQUENCING OF CONSTRUCTION, EROSION,
SEDIMENTATION AND SPREAD OF POLLUTANTS DUE TO STORM WATER RUNOFF CAN BE
MINIMIZED. MINIMIZE THE AMOUNT OF EROSION THAT TAKES PLACE DUE TO PRECIPITATION.
CONSTRUCTION OF STRUCTURAL BMPs WILL TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO OTHER GROUND
DISTURBING.
#37 STAGING AREAS
CONTRACTOR MAY USE THIS CONSTRUCTION SITE AS A STAGING AREA.
#40 VEHICLE / SEDIMENT CONTROL (STABILIZED GRAVEL ENTRANCE)
USE WHEN VEHICLES ARE ENTERING/LEAVING THE SITE TO/FROM A PUBLIC STREET AND THE
RISK OF TRANSPORTING MUD ONTO THE PUBLIC STREET IS PRESENT.
#43 DUST CONTROL
USE TO CONTROL AIR POLLUTION FROM DUST. ROUTES THAT WILL BE USED REPEATEDLY
THROUGHOUT ANY GIVEN DAY FOR DELIVERY OF MATERIALS (ASPHALT, GRAVEL, FILL) GRAVEL
ROADS SHOULD BE SPRINKLED WITH WATER NOT LESS THAN THREE TIMES EACH DAY AT THE
RATE OF 3.2 GALLONS PER ACRE OR AS NEEDED TO MOISTEN (NOT SATURATE) THE ROAD
SURFACE. SPRINKLINGS WILL BE TIMED TO OCCUR IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING AND
THROUGHOUT MAJOR DELIVERIES.
#45 STOCKPILE MANAGEMENT
MANAGE MATERIAL OF STOCKPILES SO THAT NO EROSION LEAVES THE SITE.
#46 SPILL PREVENTION AND CONTROL
THE CONTRACTOR WILL TAKE PRECAUTIONS SUCH AS REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND CARE TO
PREVENT THE LEAKAGE OF FUELS, OILS AND GREASES FROM MACHINERY. MACHINERY FOUND
TO BE LEAKING BEYOND NORMAL WILL BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE AND FIXED BEFORE
RESUMING.
#48 HAZARDOUS MATERIAL MAINTENANCE
REDUCE POLLUTANT DISCHARGE BY REDUCING WASTE GENERATION, PROPERLY USING

SHRUB AND AT EACH TREE. INSTALL NETAFIM MODEL TLTEE OR APPROVED EQUAL

3.BACKFLOW PREVENTER FOR OUTSIDE IRRIGATION LINE IS REQUIRED.
COORDINATE WITH BUILDING PLUMBING PLANS.
4.LANDSCAPER TO UTILIZE A PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE AS NECESSARY TO
