Dear Council,
I oppose the zoning changes on Harvard Avenue. Harvard is too narrow to support
business traffic between 1st and 2nd South.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Looking north on Harvard, the difference in
street width is obvious. Parking can start before 8 a.m. Patients and service providers
often block access to my driveway. Leaving my driveway safely is difficult.
If you do choose to increase the mixed zone, could you increase parking
requirements to closer to employee and waiting and examination chairs? Please consider
having a traffic count on the corner of lst South and Professional Plaza. The street is
busier than it was when the stop sign was removed from 1' South and 2nd East.
Development will only increase the danger to small children and home owners.
I want to sell my house for enough to find a comparable residence away from the
Professional Plaza. Developers want to buy at low residential prices. They ask for
rezoning which further reduces the value of neighboring homes. Currently the developers
have the advantage. Couldn't we have more forethought and fairness?
Sincerely,
Marcia Bair ll
