The City Council of the City of Rexburg,
lay of February 1948 at the City Hall. Mayor J.B. DeMott presided.at the meeting and
,he following councilmen were present: Davis, Sutherland, Flamm, Smart, & Neleoni

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and on motion of Flamm, aaconded by

The City Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho conveened at 7:30 P.H. this 18th
lay of February 1948 at the City Hall. I.:ayor J.B. DeHott presided at the meeting and

that bids should be put out in the near fueure and that it should be sold to the
highest or most desirable bidder. Miss Smith stated that she would prepare a bid and
have the same published.
The following resolution was introduced by Mayor DeMott read in full and concid-
ered:
Resolution of the Gity of Rexburg, Idaho, accepting. the Grant offer of the United
States of America through the Cival Aeronautics Administration of a maximum sum of

specifically ratify and adopt all statements, representations, warrantie~, covenents,
and agreements contained in the project application.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho,

States of America for the purpose of obtaining Federal Aid for the development of the
Rexburg Airport.

After discussion it was moved by Flamm, seconded by Smart and
accept the above resolution. ~
President Clarke met with the Counci and stated that Congress hod psssed a law
to give the Veterans housing projects to I e Schools if the City would waive the agree
ment to have them removed one year after ~heir usage. After discussion Sutherland
moved that they a ccept the following resolution:
BE IT R'5S0LVED by the ,Gity Gouncil of the City of Ite,d,urg, Idaho, which has
jurisdiction over the area in which project number II.A. V-I0135 of Ricks College
is located that the waiver of the removal requirements of sec~ion 313 of the
Laban Act( public law 849, 76th Gongress, ,as ammended) with respect to said project
is hereby specifically approved in accordance'vdth public law 796, 80th Congress.

The special meeting of tho City Council convened at 7:30 o'clock P.J.1. this 23rd day
of ;;;eptember 1948 at the City Hall. Mayor J. B. Del;{ott presided at the meeting. The
following councilmen were present~ Farrel Nelson, Richard Davis, Brent Sutherland, and
Dr. M. F. Rigby. Absent: Russell Flamm and ~"TaYne 3ElL:':lrt. R. F. Ilamilt on, City Engineer
Flnd Frank S. t'!ayne, Airport Engineer Civil Aeronautics A.dministration were al so present.
The purpose of the meeting was to oren bids on the munlci~al airport to be constructed
west of the city.

Upon moti.on of Nelson, seconded by Rigby, bids were accepted as read. Unanimously
carried.
Hecommended by R. F. Hamilton that low bidder Lobnitz Bros. Compnoy of Hexburg be
awarded the contract for construction of municipal airport and access road thereto.
Motion WAS made by Davis th::t recorrmerrlation be accepted, seconded by Sutherland.
Unanimously carried. Instructions pertaining to contract were then read and ext:Jained
by Frank Vlayne. He stated that since the low bid was under city engineers estimate,
an approxiwate amount of $3300 would be available for contingency funds. This will take
care of unforeseen over runs in contract items. Discussion followed.
On motion of Nelson, seconded by 3utherland, meeting stood adjourned.
