HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 95 - 08 ElectionRESOLUTION NO. 95.08 A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 1, 1995, DESIGNATING THE POLLING PLACES, DESIGNATING THE REGISTRAR AND DEPUTY REGISTRARS, AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO, THAT: SECTION 1. A special city election shall be held in and for the City of Rexburg, on Tuesday, the 1st day of August, 1995, at which time the citizens of Rexburg, Idaho, shall vote on an Override Election for the purpose of making necessary and essential street repairs. SECTION 2. The following are designated as the polling places for such election: FOR THE SEVENTH PRECINCT: Madison Library, 75 North Main FOR THE EIGHTH PRECINCT: Adams School, 110 North 2nd East FOR THE NINTH PRECINCT: National Guard Armory, 330 West 7th South FOR THE TENTH PRECINCT: Career Beauty College, 57 College Avenue FOR THE ELEVENTH PRECINCT: Lincoln School, 358 East 2nd South FOR THE TWELFTH PRECINCT: Stone's Town and Country, 615 South Yellowstone SECTION 3. That Beth Reese, County Clerk, is hereby designated as Registrar and the following as Deputy ' Registrars: Deputy City Clerk: Seventh Precinct: Eighth Precinct: Ninth Precinct Tenth Precinct: Eleventh Precinct: Rose Bagley Pat Burton Mary Ann Mounts Cindy Muir Joan Brunson Barbara Jaussi Twelfth Precinct: Maurice Clinger SECTION 4. The Clerk, for and on behalf of the Mayor and Council, shall give public notice of the time and place of holding such special city election by posting such notice in three public places or publishing such notice in at least two issues of the Standard Journal, a newspaper printed and published in the City of Rexburg, Idaho, the first publication of such notice to be made not less than 45 days previous to the date of such city election and the last publication not less than 15 days prior to the election; the notice so published shall state the places of registration and the name of the Registrar and the Deputy Registrars, and the requirements for registration of electors at such city and such other information as may be necessary to give full facts of such election and registration; said notice to contain such information in accordance with the requirements of Section 50-436 of the Idaho Code.
