Great, thank you. His name is Bo Briggs of Bo’s Roofing and his number is +1 (208) 403-5496. He says if he doesn’t pick up he will call you right back. Anything you can tell me would be helpful since I don’t have eyes on it. That could provide a little detail for you. It wouldn't give much detail for workmanship, but rather if typical installation practices were followed. We would need their contact information if so. Thanks Bret! That’s good to know. Is it still possible to have an inspection done, or would it be pointless if there was no permit? I just want someone unbiased and qualified to tell me the work is well done, but if the city can’t do that I understand. Please let me know. If there are changes to the structural members (trusses, etc.) then a permit would be required, and possibly a design professional (engineer). Thank you for keeping us in the loop on this project. Please continue to let us know as it progresses into a sale of the property or otherwise. Hi Bret and Cody, I have some updates to share and some questions to ask. The roof on 364 has been completed by Bo’s Roofing. Before work started I requested that he get a permit from the city, but he just told me this morning that Rexburg does not require a permit for a roof replacement. Can you verify this? I am in the process of preparing to sell this property and I need to make sure there is documentation that the roof was approved and is up to code. Because of the history of this property and its projects, I need to make sure this was done properly and meets all requirements. Will somebody from the building department be able to inspect the new roof next week and provide some type of proof that it either passes or it doesn’t? Please let me know if that is possible even though they did not pull a permit. Otherwise, if we need them to go through the permit application process in order to have proper documents, etc, I will ask him to do so. The other update is that I am working with someone on getting these buildings listed for sale “as is,” because there are a couple things still not meeting code and I haven’t been able to find anybody to fix them. I will keep you informed as to what happens with that and who ownership will be transferred to. If there are no takers come spring it is possible I will be able to hire someone to do the jobs needed before selling. Just want to keep you in the loop. The railings are also finished. Right now we are also replacing a roof and I hear the weather is pretty rough. I will reach out to my contacts and see if we can schedule something for the decks and slabs. It seems no one is willing to pull out and re-pour the slabs because it is too small of a job. I’ll find out what can be done in this weather and let you know where we are at. Thank you for giving me time to complete it.
