RESOLUTION FOR AMENDING
VISION 2020 REXBURG COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND MAP
Resolution 2010 - 12
WHEREAS, on the 18"' day of AUGUST, 2010, the City Council for the City of
Rexburg was duly convened upon notice properly given and a quorum was duly noted; and
WHEREAS, in a Joint Work Meeting with Rexburg Planning and Zoning
Commission and City Council on the 23' day of Tune, 2010, the Planning and Zoning
Commission recommended to City Council to change the Comprehensive Plan and
Comprehensive Plan Map's Land Use designation names, which have caused confusion
because of their similarity with the Zoning Map names; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Map's key sheet lists the Land Use
designation names and the zones that would be permitted under them; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Map should allow for some flexibility in Land
Use designations; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Map gets into specifics regarding Land Uses; and
WHEREAS, the following Land Use Designation changes to the Comprehensive
Plan Map are hereby set forth as shown on the map to bring the Comprehensive Plan Map
in harmony with existing land uses:
1. Change High Density Residential and Medium Density Residential designations to Moderate
to High Density Residential.
2. Change Low Density Residential designation to Low to Moderate Density Residential.
3. Change Business Park and Highway Commercial to Commercial.
4. Change to Downtown Commercial Mixed Use (also change name)
5. Change to Neighborhood Commercial Mixed Use.
6. Change to Moderate to High Density Residential.
7. Change to Neighborhood Commercial Mixed Use.
8. Change Low Density Residential to Single Family Residential
NEW DESIGNATIONS and ALLOWED ZONES
Single Family Residential - LDR1, LDR2 and LDR3
Low to Moderate Density Residential - LDR2, LDR3, and MDR1
Moderate to High Density Residential - MDR1, MDR2, HDR1 and HDR2
Commercial - All Commercial Zones
WHEREAS, the changes shown on the Comprehensive Plan Map dated July 28, 2010 have
been recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission;
NOW THEREFORE, by resolution duly adopted on the date first above written, be it
resolved by the Mayor and the City Council the following:
The City of Rexburg does hereby accept and adopt the recommendation of the Rexburg City
Planning and Zoning Commission to adopt the said Comprehensive Plan and
Comprehensive Plan Map Land Use Designations in the City ofRexharrg Uision 2020
Comprehensiir Plan.

FOR THE CITY OF REXBURG
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held the 18th of August, 2010,
at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 35 North 15t East, Rexburg, Idaho, before City Council of the City of Rexburg, Madison
County, Idaho, to consider amending the current Comprehensive Plan Map and associated changes to the land use
descriptions in the Comprehensive Plan. The proposed changes to the Comprehensive Plan and the
Comprehensive Plan Map are as noted below:
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN and COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PREFFERRED
USE MAP SUGGESTED CHANGES:
1. Change High Density Residential and Medium Density Residential designations to Moderate to High
Density Residential.
2. Change Low Density Residential designation to Low to Moderate Density Residential.
3. Change Business Park and Highway Commercial to Commercial.
4. Change to Downtown Commercial Mixed Use (also change name)
5. Change to Neighborhood Commercial Mixed Use.

On June 23r', 2010 Planning and Zoning presented the proposed changes to City Council in a joint Planning and
Zoning/City Council meeting where the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the
proposed "Land Use Designation" changes.
At such Public Hearing City Council will hear all persons and all objections and recommendations relative to the
Comprehensive Plan and Comprehensive Plan Map revisions that will be proposed.
The City Council encourages all City residents to participate in the process to amend the Comprehensive Plan Map.
Citizen's comments may be submitted in writing or by email during the fact finding period to the City Clerk at City
Hall located at 35 North 1st East, Rexburg, Idaho, prior to 4:00 p.m. on the 1711, of August, 2010. This notice is
given pursuant to the provisions of Section 67-6508, 67-6509 and 67-6511 Idaho Code, and all amendments
