To whom it may concern,
Pursuant to building in Madison County, Idaho, all aspects of the adopted International Fire
Code (IFC) at the time a permit is issued must be met. For water/fire flow assistance in the rural
environment, NFPA 1142 shall be used as a companion document to the IFC. Consultation with
a Fire Protection Engineer is recommended to best determine how the IFC and NFPA 1142
apply to your development.
Any proposed exceptions to the adopted code must be received in writing addressed to:
Madison Fire Department, attention Inspector Stan Crittenden, 26 N. Center St. Rexburg, Idaho
83440.
Furthermore, any appeal to a final decision of the Fire Inspector may be heard by following the
Board of Appeals process as outlined in the IFC.
